Holy skritt! This guy killed this pointless thread with common sense!

More options for everyone! Person A wants to teleport to destination to deliver his levequest shipment while person B wants to take the scenic route on chocoback!

    Win, win, right?

i like the tele system at later stages,

sure begin the game explore all the maps, have a feel of the world your in, but as a MMO player who likes sticking with a game for years time, its gonna get a bit old Teleporting would be better at that point.

imo make it very hard at the start, including a few challenges, and make it easier at later max levels, by then i think theres allot more to do with peoples limited time, End game, Farming, pvp, or w/e content there is, and theres gonna be a good some.

so therers a good side to being able to teleport easily, more time ingame to manage your Char and all that bigger picture stuff.. when u want to explore by all means !

    ^^)b

Think I did the math once on how much time I wasted playing XI strictly due to traveling just for shits, not playing the game itself. Some can argue playing a game is a waste of time since you're technically not doing anything productive IRL but I gotta camp those 3am Faf's for that ridil man. Shits important haha.

But ya it came out to just over a couple months in a span of 5years literally gone just traveling from point a to point b. Seeing the same shit I've seen countless times.

I'm cool with not having to do that again, I'd rather have that time wasted on fighting stuff like odin, revived Midgardsormr (c'mon think about it Yoshi-P ^^), or bahamut(hopefully? )

It's a shame people don't seem interested unless it involves killing something these days.

I think people are missing a point... The OP wasn't bashing teleporting as a whole, just the extreme excess of teleporting. Everyone teleports everywhere at any time. There IS no exploration, no world immersion, no sense of grandeur when everyone on the entire server just 'bloop bloop bloops' everywhere. I can see how teleporting to far-off destinations is useful, but seeing shit like people teleporting from Ul'dah to Camp Black Brush; I mean, come on. Say perhaps you're off to hunt Dodore. There's no build-up or suspense in just teleporting 15 metres away and killing it. Enjoy yourself, immerse yourself wholly into the experience by running via Camp Crimson Bark or something, make it feel like a real hunt. This whole instant gratification scheme is a real game-killer, because it gets old fast. It's similar to having a big bad boss fall in 2 hits. Instant loot gratification, zero experience gratification.
