^^^ Bringing back some FXI enemies I see.. good stuff.![]()
"You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war."
I know what you meant. FFXI being my first mmo when I played it back in 2004 and it took me about roughly 7 months to get to 75.I went Thief.
I first enjoyed Thief in XI, and I think I got it to around 45 ish before the party invites became so non-existent that it sort of faded away for me. It wasn't until Abyssea that I was able to get it to whatever the cap was when I played before (I think 80?)
Even if it was strenuous at times, I loved the social aspect of having to coordinate with your tank and first voke for the SA/TA. Sure plenty of people never got the idea and it got easier whenever you learned assassin, but it was just good fun landing the huge damage hits, being a very able puller, debuffing with bolts and knowing that you were leveling a job that had some fantastic self-sustainability down the road that was always going to be a great asset to provide Treasure Hunter.
Samurai would be my second pick, because almost everything I just said applies (minus very good sustainability). SAM was still a fantastic "party role" that forced you to socialize and have some fantastic fun coordinating WS's to result in fantastic results when people actually listened.
I don't feel like there is anything quite like that currently in XIV. I feel that party mechanics are rather dull and uneventful. Then again, I can only think of 2 party spots ever, and that makes me sad, because that's pathetic and everyone who enjoyed XI knows it. Part of the charm was always having to go to some new location to level up, some dangerous destination in some distant part of the game to gain the next few levels. Not "Go here to gain 1/5th of your entire levels".
I really hope we get great job variety and there are lots of interesting places to party up at in ARR.
Jobs like thief and Sam subbing /thief required coordination with tank in order to have a consistent hate control for the tank.
Weapon skill chain played a great part of doing extra damage and bonuses.
These mmade it more involving with the party and adds that extra joy of successfully pulling it off.
But anyway hopefully ARR includes new job/battle adjustment whether new or old concept will make it more fun. Cant wait to find out.

where the hell is puppetmaster?

A FFXI pet job.
Puppetmasters are a playable advanced job in Final Fantasy XI since the addition of Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion. Entertainers from the Near East in Vana'diel, they use their puppets to entertain audiences, but they are also effective in combat. Puppetmasters are adept with hand-to-hand combat, but their specialty is activating an automaton to assist them in combat. Unlike other summons, the puppet can be equipped with different heads or chassis, as well as customized using over a dozen attachments.
Puppetmasters are accompanied by an Automaton, which, according to the story of Final Fantasy XI, is a recent invention of a prominent engineer of the Eastern Empire, a Galka named Ghatsad. Traditionally, the entertainers of the past had used marionettes to entertain crowds. These new creations are built and maintained by their puppetmaster owners and function without the use of any strings or other attachment. Instead, a puppetmaster uses a remote device known as an animator which can be use to control the pet.

Voted RDM. BUT...I hope SE will consider Blue Mage for the future, that Soulflayer reminds me of them DX
Need I say more?

I swear I am always the only person to pick Chemist on these job poles. There's nothing wrong with that job! IT WAS FUN.
( ; A; )

Chemist is on the top of my wishlist. It was for XI and it still is for XIV.
I really think a job with mix and the potential to throw weird concoctions has a chance of being fun and effective.
As well as a huge array of potential effects. Phoenix down + Remedy = Reraise potion. Of course all temp items Procedurally restocking themselves.
I made a huge write up on it back in XI's days, but they never brought it inI did like the subtle nod to the job with the BRD AF3 though.
I like the "Mix" concept for Chemists as well.Chemist is on the top of my wishlist. It was for XI and it still is for XIV.

Reminds me a lot of Rikku from FFX (Thief / Chemist / Machinist).
Currently, there is no class that can "Throw" medicine at other players. I think this would be a decent idea to expand upon in the (probably) far future.
