^ this. He should stay dead, and his name needs to certainly go down in lore. I would love a statue of him somewhere. perhaps a shrine to him where he made his last stand in Mor'Dhona.
I agree that if he is dead, he should stay dead to not take away from his sacrifice.
But before that, Louisoix is never actually seen dying. He fades to white, which purposefully leaves it to interpretation. He didn't seem to teleport the GC leaders/Cid but I think they'll live. So before asking "should he be revived?" I think we should ask "is he actually dead?" I don't think SE will kill off the GC leaders/Cid, so either they all live or Louisoix is the only one to die. Perhaps Louisoix teleported them as well even though it isn't shown, or something very important happened after we were teleported away. A key point of the story in ARR is finding out what happened after that final fade to white, so we can't assume anything is all I'm saying...

Agreed. However, those who sacrifice themselves should stay gone. I'll miss Lou, but it's his sacrifice that makes him worth missing. Be honest - until today, he was just the old elezen who couldn't be bothered to remind you that you left without your goddamn inferno lamp AGAIN. He gave his life - respect his choice.
In all fairness, the way Mu died was stupid beyond belief and solely done for shock value and the fact SEED had not met the Gundam series' quota of likable characters that have to die.Or when Mu La Flaga came back from the dead, if you're a Gundam fan?
* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

Louix teleporting the "stock" party was supposed to symbolize him teleporting us adventurers out en-masse, so it's safe to assume that Cid and the GC leaders were ported out as well (we do have confirmation that the GC leaders are alive in ARR). What makes me believe Loui is dead is the fact he didn't go with them..no blue aura, no "peace bitches I'm outta here" look...instead his look is peaceful right before it fades to white.I agree that if he is dead, he should stay dead to not take away from his sacrifice.

Louix wasn't the only one to die, no. In another of the XIV trailers, it mentions countless of lives lost, which means there WAS a great deal of loss of life. Louix could also symbolize that mass of deaths, much like the stock party being teleported symbolizes our escape and survival.

I hope the Grand Company leaders are dead, they didn't fight. They were standing in the back doing nothing.
I also think it's safe to assume Cid and the GC leaders are alive (didn't know it was confirmed), but I don't see anything pointing to them being teleported? It makes more sense to me that they stayed in the world and "matured" along with a realm reborn. I think when we meet all of the NPCs in ARR they will have grown and evolved over the 5 year time skip, GC leaders and Cid included.Louix teleporting the "stock" party was supposed to symbolize him teleporting us adventurers out en-masse, so it's safe to assume that Cid and the GC leaders were ported out as well (we do have confirmation that the GC leaders are alive in ARR). This. As several people have said, it's simply presumption to assume he's dead until the events of 2.0. If he dies, he no doubt died nobly.Just going to say, how can you be 100% sure he is dead? It does look grim for him at that moment, but I'm assuming something happened to tame Bahamut at least a little bit because not everything is completely destroyed, and I have a hard time imagining that 5 years (I think they said 5 years) in the future, everything in the Gridania area would have been rebuilt, because as far as I can tell from the Alpha footage that SE released, Gridania looks pretty much in tact. I'm not saying Louisoix is not dead by any means, but the scene fading to white does not indicate that he is Dead either.
But all we see is a lens flare. Not a corpse. (Unless he teleported himself to plague-ridden Arthurian England... O.o )
