Ending, plot discussion. Warning: Spoilers

Lets discuss some stuff.

- Dalamud was a prison for Bahamut, the 12 tried to reprison Bahamut and failed. So 12 eorzean gods < bahamut.
- Old elf guy ported us to the future, but died.
- The black wolf didn't seem worried about Bahamut.

I recall the main plot speaking about the Empire having means to target and guard itself from Bahamut. I'm not sure what happened with this plotline... any input?

Did Cid and the company leaders die? It seemed to me only the AF adventurers got ported into the future.

Some highlights:

At the end when he ported us the symbol of Althyk flashed for a moment, Im sure its because he is the god of space and time but Lou seems to have some sort of connection with the twelve as a whole and not just his patron Diety.

The Empire has been destroying primals for years - returning aether that they would have been consuming back into the system, which was then routed and fed to Dalamud by Van Darnus.

We've been feeding the thing aether this entire time, it's not surprising whatever was in it would be pretty powerful by the time we got to this point.

Maybe the seal didn't work because the world's aether was drained by the avatars and the avatars were drained by dalamud?

Thus making the 12 weaker and Bahamut stronger?

Summary:

What Happened?
Darnus uses the ancient spell "Meteor" to bring down Dalamud, but no one can imagine that Dalamud was the prison of the king of the dragon, Bahamut.
Like Garuda said during the quest In for garuda wakening, Primals absorbs aether and crystal power...
So when we defeated Garuda, Ifrit and even Darnus, Dalamud was enough close to us for absorb their powers... This made Bahamut more strong...
And when the first key of god falls from Dalamud... the power of Twelve no more sufficient for keep bahamut in the prison..
And how we can see in last Cutscene, we can see Bahamut Power destroy the prison and get free finally, after years of prisoning.

So the Archons, Thancred and the others, tried to imprison again Bahamut praying for the Twelve.. And Louisoix cast the Imprisoning spell... But the power of bahamut is too powerful now..

Bahamut casts Giga-Flare... But Louisoix with last power of Althyk (God of Time and Space) teleport (all?) us 5 years in the future..

Definitely bahamut, no doubt about that.

I was thinking the same thing. Did the GC company leaders make it? Did Cid make it?

I never seen those walker things in game. Did you see the WAR bust out SC! I was like weee!!!!

This has to be by far the greatest CG in FF ever. After 2 long years and the ups and down. I have to say I am pumped for 2.0

The ending made me sad to see Lou (I was born under him) die, and seeing him smile at the end gave me goose bumps.

I'm ignorant to all the lore, but are you sure we went to the future and not the past to prevent this from happening?

As far as I know, 2.0 has been confirmed to be set 5 years in the future.
And in the alpha videos part of gridania is labeled as new gridania.

I do recall the empire having means to shield itself from Dalamud though. So I'm guessing that's how they survive?

It was confirmed that ARR happens 5 years in the future. There's also a possibility of a different dimension seeing as Atomos was involved plus you can't rebuild cities in 5 years after what bahamut did

So obviously Bahamut has the destructive power to destroy the planet. Is he just gonna be perched up somewhere waiting for us five years later?
