they need prerequisites back for doing everything like in FFXI. right now there no checks & balences just spaming stuff.
even other games required you to get something to start working for things.

like FFXI bcnm you need beastmen seals then you have to buy a orb then you get to a burning circle.
dynamis you buy a clock then have 1 hour to finsh then your locked out for 3 days.
no prerequisites just means the game will dry up faster and give less things to do.

I agree. FFXIV has "prerequisites", but they're so so easy to fulfill as is. To fight primals all you need to do is kill some regular monsters that drop the required item with an extremely high rate. Most other content has a similar requirement for entry if it requires anything at all besides be 45+ or something. As easy as leveling is, the level requirement is a joke.

I hope they've taken note and will adjust things in ARR such that you really can't just spam your way to getting everything. In FFXI, the sense of accomplishment when you got something really was significant.

Not anymore, you now buy a key item, and you can now repeat every 24 hours. Just 5-manned Dynamis-Qufim last night.

i'm not trying to be rude, but do you even know anything about relic quest in this game?

and another one. do you know anything about relic quest?

you two make it sound like starting relic quest is as easy as buying a double melded class weapon and fighting a weak version of ifrit extreme. if it's that easy, where are your relics? isn't it pretty safe to say that the prereqs for relic are the primary reason you don't have it yet?

    come on.

    1. thread is about relics
    2. you agree there aren't enough prereqs... using non-relic things as an example. a poor example.

I don't have a relic, but if I wanted one I know how to get it and that it would more or less boil down to a straight line of events that are quite doable within a reasonable time frame if you have the right people (like anything in this game). There are prereqs, but it is not my belief that they're very stringent or near impossible to complete. Basically if you focus on getting a relic, you will get it.

I know it's beating a dead horse, but in FFXI you could solely focus on relic and there's a large chance you'll never get it. For the moment I'm leaving out the whole FFXIV relics = FFXI AF.

My point is that things are easily done in this game; many things that maybe shouldn't be. The most challenging prereqs aren't truly difficult to accomplish.
