


I'm not talking about taking away abilities from Classes i'm talking about shifting the focus of what abilities they have access to. They would lose access to many many actions that for the most part are completely useless to them and a few actions that most if not all classes would equip. where as they would gain abilities from their respective jobs. The class system as it is doesnt provide benefit enough to some classes while benefiting other classes more and if you inject more classes with more actions the balance skews even more.
This form of Classes seperates them from each other and makes them more easily adjusted to boost their performance without creating a domino effect with the other classes.

^. I get the idea of it being open ended, but let's be real, it was another "make this game different from FFXI" that didn't hold well, or else it wouldn't have went through 3 revisions.
Besides, job based FF games are all about their set roles.
