Will Arcanist be a selectable Class at character creation at launch? If we already have a character being transferred can we choose it to start with after altering our character creation options?

Existing players will probably not be able to choose Arcanist at the creation screen, since a similar question was asked a while back in regards to the new starting gear and if existing players will receive it when they start ARR, the dev suggested existing players will be able to buy the gear from an NPC in town. Similarly i would assume that existing players can purchase the lv1 Arcanist weapon from town.

The reason i think you won't be able to pick the class right from the start is because a lot of players probably have 100+ of the inventory space filled in 1.0, so they won't be able to hold the starting weapon if they were given it during the character creation process since they would be full. Just easier to buy it from the NPC for like 1gil or something

Dear Yoshi-p, will you please consider this request from a Final Fantasy VII-VIII fan to implementing more iconic weapons in the future like Omega, Ruby, and Emerald Weapon?

Info Taken from the Hidden Artifact Event. During the Event an offcial image of what appears to be Omega was released, Not sure about the other two, but can probably safely assume Omega and Ultima will be in FFXIV.

Are Free Companies going to have their own 'Guild Banks'? And if so what are the options going to be for distribution rights?

Free Companies each have a shared box for storing items and transferring them between members. However, imagine I’m the free company leader. If I want, I can configure it so that only I have the authority to remove items, and that the other three members can only deposit items.

The thread has very clear rules. One question per post. Then people can like that post for their support for the question to be asked. If you ask more than one question in your post, there's no telling how many like which question so that post is automatically disqualified, as are all the votes associated with it.

Will there be wildlife (critters) in the world? Such as birds flying, butterflies, etc.


I haven't noticed any such things in the videos as of yet, but always enjoyed the small details in FFXI.

While this has not yet officially been answered, it is very likely that these things will exist in 2.0 as they already exist in large amounts in 1.xx already. If you look around Grid and the forest, there are butterflies everywhere. Limsa has heaps of birds. I'm not sure what Uldah has but it probably has it's own wildlife too. I've still not seen the owl in the Shroud though, wish I had... Maybe that's what I'll be looking at when Dalamud finally hits ^_^

When FFXIV:ARR launches will we keep our current lvls. or will we have to creat a new character and start over?

We will have our previous levels. You will also have the option of creating new characters but any old characters will remain (with very few changes: primarily the new gil redenomination and removal of no longer existing items and changing of some items and changing inventory systems/limits) with all of their experience and achievements in tact. The only things you might have to start over are certain quests (NOT the relic quest) which will be reset to the start of the quest; partial progress in those won't be saved apparently.

Lol Thanks, I deleted the Shared Box Question but kept the Arcanist question.

Kept the Arcanist question because it is about the Character Creation selection and not if it is just available at launch, it's two different things. Transferring characters not having inventory space is their own problem because the inventory issue has been stated for quite some time now whether the character chose to prepare or not or chose to stop playing the game a long time ago. Cause it won't necessarily be easier to just buy the weapon if we have to go through the tutorial mode (on a 50 if u have all 50s ).

Will we be allowed a one time name change at the start of ARR?

Please avoid this mistake...and this one:

pretty sure the questions aren't being answered by how many votes they get, this isn't american idol.

I was not gonna comment on this at first but seeing how you commented on someone else posting habit, i guess its ok.













I'm not pointing this out to pick a fight or anything but maybe before going out of your way to find fault in others posts, you should make sure your following the rules yourself.

if i thought of mine all in a row i would put them in one post, those are separate post from different times and many on different days, i don't have a time machine.

ps my rules are the only ones that matter
