As for the mailbox question, it was the simple fact that I forgot it got answered in the last live letter. There is a ton of info to keep up with if you got a busy life (such as my own which is managing a web-comic series, taking care of my mom who is handicapped (I drive her everywhere, do her shopping, and keep up with her doctor appointments), that sometimes, you know, keeping up with details in a video game is on the very low end of the priority list. XD

However thanks for the reminder and game on.

Can we list direct links to good questions such as the one in regards to a content finder like system for crafters? I'd like to push it up with more likes if possible, along with other quality ideas. It's quite a large thread now.

Do you have any idea how long after the launch of ARR you will wait to raise level caps?

Answer from 3nd Live letter

At the launch of A Realm Reborn, the level cap will still be 50. We're already planning to implement a lot of content specifically for level 50. If we decide to increase the level cap at the time of launch, we're going to have to implement additional content before we're able to launch ARR.

The current plan is to increase the level cap with the next major update after launch. We will also be updating the content to reflect the increase in level cap. So the level cap increase will happen. It just won't be happening at the launch.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to give you a time frame on when it will occur. Please note that the battle system is completely different in ARR, so even if your character is already at level 50, there's a lot to re-learn.

when can we get a benchmark?

Answer from 3rd live letter, Since beta start date depends on how well Alpha goes, there is no exact date till they are done with Alpha.

We’ll have two benchmarks. The first will be available before the Beta test starts so that players can see if their PC specs meet the requirements for FFXIV:ARR. The second one will be released just before the game launches and will be bundled with character creation software.

In other words, you’ll be able to make characters to use in FFXIV:ARR before launch. If you’re wondering what character creation will be like and are thinking about what kind of character you want to make, you can check this out.

Honestly i wish they would too, just reading through the official questions thread, you can see half the people explain or justify their question or request. The people that start quoting and discussing someone else s question within the thread is even worse imo. Even more funny when u see a question only have 3 likes, but the exact same question is asked 8 different times by different people.

Just thought I'd add my own little question and answer here:

Are there plans to release a CE for ARR?

I was curious about this myself so tried to find out about a week ago. Yes, according to Electronics Boutique here in Brisbane, Australia, there is already a CE version of the game in their system. They don't yet know any details such as price, date, or what will be included, but they do have the name of the CE in their system which I think is pretty indicative in itself that a CE is planned. Of course, plans are not guarantees, but I'll trust them ^_^

I wasn't aware of that and can't really see how it would work... The free upgrade to 2.0 was supposed to be a download, whereas the CE is mainly about physical items (with a code for virtual item but still mainly physical). I don't think the 2.0 upgrade is for the CE edition but rather for the new base game digital download alone.

Are the mini-aetherytes that help us travel in town gone in ARR? Also, when will we get the special Legacy chocobo?

I can't answer about the chocobo but it has been confirmed that the aethernet in towns will remain and they will become free. Anyone who already bought the pass(es) will be refunded at the new 1/10th gil rate for the black market gil cost.

Will there be any plans to sort by damaged gear? It is frustrating trying to repair yourself combing through all of your gear. Or sort by repair class, grouping together all gear that for example a carpenter could repair.

It has been confirmed that you'll be able to repair all your stuff with ease in 2.0 if you meet the requirements to do so. Simply equip your repair tool, go into your inventory and repair all with one last click.

i think its much more interesting to ask about ingame stuff... idk... how the summoner job is going to work... will he be able to summon permanent pets... or will the "summons" will be more like a magical one-hit attack?

will there be public quests? etc..


about the game itself.. and not like "is there gonna be a CE"... i want to know more about the game itself.. and not about other stuff which really isnt important at this point. a CE will be released or not.. you will see it in the near future in the online shop.. so i dont see why you should ask that and when there is not much time to ask questions which should be much more important than a CE...
less questions will be answered, we need more important questions than a CE or somethin.

i dont know whats going on in the peoples minds.
