Ah yeah, the rewording made what you were actually asking a bit more clear. I haven't really thought about it too much, since I just assumed that was an echo vision/jump way back when. On the other hand the opening cutscene when you start up the game is a vision of what's taking place right now, so... your guess seems reasonable enough, considering the circumstances are similar.

And that's where we back ourselves into another corner - MAYBE. If they stopped partying together, they started back up again at some point, because the AG Party is back in the new Realm Reborn ad, as well! The miqo'te is now a Bard, and if you pause it at EXACTLY the right time, you can see the male elezen's grumpus face sticking out of that BLM outfit.

However, that doesn't mean you're not right - if there's any reason to put aside your old gripes and fight together again... it's... you know - The Apocalypse.

I recall Yoshida-san saying explicitly to not worry about that one - that they will be coming back around to every old plot point again. The City-Specific Scenario (being a patriot and solving town problems) and Main Scenario (heeding Siren's call and mastering The Echo) were literally on pause to deal with The Seventh Umbral Era Storyline.

Now, Darnus has been defeated (for now (?)), the Grand Companies are reformed, and the Eorzean Alliance reforged - it's time to take the fight back to Gaius and save our hometowns. There's plenty more Echo to go - we don't even have in-game proof positive that Siren is the primal for The Woken yet.

When I watched the trailer I thought the archer was the cat lady from the intro trailer and that the only one missing was the elvaan.. but theres a blm in their group that I couldn't tell what race it was so I like to think that's him. In my version they all stayed together yay!

I've been calling him Bob for a little while. I figure if they don't like Bob they'll tell me something better.

I'd assume they all have to have names, and it's been driving me nuts not knowing. It's just a matter of IF A THEN B. These cinematics have scripts. How do these scripts differentiate between them? Does it say "THE MIDLANDER SAYS" and then "THE ELEZEN REPLIES" (much like my own lore write-up)?

However, you have to admit, they might just have silly everyday code-names around the office. The script could just call for Hiroshi and Akira to do this while little lalafell Reiko does that... While this doesn't seem likely with SE's depth of lore, it's still possible that they had a conversation equivalent to, "What do we call them in the script?" "I don't know. Bob? He looks like a Bob." and then flash forward to planning The End of an Era, "Okay, Bob's gonna do Steel Cyclone."

When I was making this post, in all honesty I had considered the name Bob, but the context reminded me so much of the plain english names that SG:Atlantis had for the Wraith, I thought "Todd" would be more apt.
