I do like this theory, although it does open a new can of worms about the nature of the echo.Ultimate Super OMG Theory:
Ascilia is Minfilia. Their names are VERY similar. They both have the same light blue eyes and blonde hair. The theory that some years have passed since the Warburton/Corguevais/Niellefresne, is strengthened with Ascilia as a Hyur aging into Minfilia. Damielliot is a sickly Elezen, and Elezen age very slowly so he does not age as rapidly as a Hyur does.
When you bump into Minfilia outside the Thaumaturge guild, you talk to her and she responds with:
She remembers Thancred from her younger days and it clearly shows that Thancred at the time was not in Ul'dah, lending more credit to everything being an Echo of the past. Also after she answers you, the Echo begins and Thancred appears. There are 2 people, whom both have witnessed the Echo and not counting Niellefresne because he's dead, who respond to you during your Echo jumps within the Echo: Thancred and Ascilia. So the 2 people who have a history of dealing with the Power of the Echo, both have the ability to sense and interact with you inside the Echo.
/deepbreath. Then in the Faded to White quest Tataru says this: We saw what happened because we were able to Echo jump within the Echo to see what happened through the eyes of Ascilia and the Gem within Heartstrike.
/bow
Does Ascilia and Minfilia mean two different things too like that Roegadyn in the Marauder quests? lol
And i agree with you.. we are able to change events through Echo i think we get the full package of abilities with the Echo stuff not even Minfilia knows about
Glad you brought that up, that gives more precedent to people changing their name. I looked up ASC and MINF but I cannot find anything, a big reach is ASC meaning Altered-State of Consciousness lol
Check out my Lore posts:An Eorzean Timeline: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/64377-An-Eorzean-Timeline-Reborn
I don't think Ferne ever went into detail on Hyur naming conventions. Only Roegadyn and Lalafell.
HOLY HALONE! BRAINWAVE!
I take your Ascilia = Minfilia, and raise you a Hermit = Krimm:
I take back my judgement about how long ago in history we're talking. Padjal don't grow up, so that doesn't bother me either. But MY TWELVE we are on to something here.
EDIT: Supporting material:
^His old attitude.Hermit of the Wood: Why is it everyone is so bloody eager to believe in things they can't even see?
^Insinuating he remembers you. My argument about changing history stands.Hermit of the Wood: When I found you knocked senseless in the Twelveswood, I knew something was different about you. It is why I let the good Lady Minfilia know of yer predicament.
Hermit of the Wood: Tell 'er all you've seen, whether you believe it yourself or not, and she'll set things as straight as she can.
Hermit of the Wood: Alright then, while it pains me to cut this 'eartfelt reunion short, I've pressing matters to sort out back in Gridania. The younglin's ain't so young anymore, if you catch me meanin'. Farewell, Taveth.

Mindblown lol if what you two say its tru then Lominsa story doesn't stand alone anymore with the Roegadyn name change and eyepatch ...But just like Ascilia/Minfilia have a lil problem so does yours 2 questions pop up.. when did Krimm get the Echo? and where is the grown up Fye?
In both cases they have the same skin, hair and eye color...and both cases their age would match up as grown ups..

Finding a mature Fye is now on my list. But in the interim, here is annother juicy tidbit about Minfilia:
THAT is what threatens Ul'dah.Originally Posted by Fade to White

Who is the keeper they talking about ? ...i'm watching Limsa CSs and Y'stola finds a mi'qote who's an old friend called J'arhll using the same staff as Urianger...could she be another archon?
The Keeper of the Lake, Midgardsomr, of course.
For Urianger's staff, go take a look at the Arcanist's guild in Limsa, also known as Maelvan's gate, located back the docks. EVERYBODY there has one.
Not everyone's has golden decoration on their staves and not everyone is an old friend of Y'shtola >.> she wears same clothes too except different color ....
btw why the famous "key" in the limsa lominsa storyline is the same horn that pisses off the gobbue in the Ul'dah intro?
So the Ascian in disguise aka travanchet runs away with the horn that makes mobs angry and attack...so what happens in lominsa storyline is before ul'dah's?
