its an item from a 1.0 quest Relating to Dalamud, Something that ran its course 5 years ago in ARR.

Because we know full well people would bitch up a storm if it was missing. This is the problem with them not wanting to do a wipe.

If they were going to wipe our data, and had told us from the start, nearly everyone would have immediately quit and there would be no reason for them to have left the game up this past year following the 2.0 announcement lol. For better or worse they decided to keep the game up and allow us to keep our characters. At least that way they'd be able to keep the "Legacy" members for 2.0.

Maybe maybe not lol - depends on how they do with ARR and new people. I know quite a few who wouldnt care, or not care enough to leave. Just flame for a while lol.

I dont think they would remake FFXIV just for the people who are left over - I'm sure they think it was worth it to be remade beyond just because the first version was bad.
