Well, just leaving my 2 cents:
i like the slot cost idea. Its a creative way of adding ALOT of accessories options but leaving up to players to decide which slot they want to have stuff equipped. I think removing this restriction would be a shame since right now the choice of accessory is strategically made based on effects.
However, the current restriction is pretty bad the way it is...having accessories cost growing while the slot ppoints don't turned to be an annoyyance to high rank players. IMO making accessory cost increasing with the rank would fit the game idea much more than removing the restriction since the high cost of high rank accessories would keep them away from low rank players, but also leaving high rank players the option of equipping 6 accessories at high rank, just like we used to do at lower ranks.
And while talking about this...there should be also added ecen more accessories slots for an even further character customization...from facegear (like leaving eyepatches, spectacles, monocles and masks as accessories) to even race specific slots, like giving elezen and lalafells the option for 4 earrings, miqo'tes option for ail rings, roegadyns, midlanders and highlanders options for those nose rings and piercings, etc.

I am perfectly happy with the current system. Although having all slots available to be used in FFXI was nice, now that items actually appear on my character, I don't want this to be the case. In order to maximize my effectiveness i would need to be wearing a necklace, 4 rings, and especially 2 earrings. Which I would prefer my male character to not need to wear earrings at all times so that I am not gimp. Please keep the system the way it is!
cut down the rings to just two like FFXI, necklace is not an accessory(FFXI) so 2 earrings, 2 rings, and 2 wrists.
This system just doesn't make sense. I can be fully decked out with jewelry at rank 1, but not at rank 30 or 40 or 50? It's backwards.Hello everyone! As Bayohne has mentioned in the earlier post, we talked with the development team and are here to relay the latest details on this topic.
Currently the development team is reviewing the accessory point system, including the possibility of abolishing the system. However by doing away with the accessory point system and removing the limit, different issues will arise. For example, by allowing players to have more accessories equipped, the value and effect of each accessory will decrease. Also by having more accessories in possession, players can run into storage problems. To prevent these issues from happening, the development team is thinking things through carefully, so it will be a little more time before we have a concrete solution.
We are looking forward to any additional feedback you may have so please don't hesitate to give us your thoughts!
This system can only be fixed properly after attribute point system is fixed.

The only change needed is a slight revamping of slot costs. Better yet, please just let your developers modify the system as they think best instead of listening to the hordes of whiners on these forums (and yes, I include myself in that group).Hello everyone! Low end gear is relatively more effective. Just look at Brass Rings (r18) vs. Silver Rings (r28). Each Brass Ring gives +3 Accuracy, and takes up 2 (of 12) slots. Each Silver Ring gives +4 Accuracy and takes up 3 slots. This system does not make sense and is imbalanced.
At rank 30 I can either equip 4 Silver Rings (rank 28) for Accuracy +16
or
4 Brass Rings and 2 Brass Earrings (all rank 18 i believe) for Accuracy +12 and Evasion +6 which in my opinion is better if not equal to the above example. Please correct me if you disagree.
So you can wear 4 brass rings, which give +12 Accuracy, and take up 8 slots.
Or you can wear 3 silver rings, which give +12 Accuracy, and take up 9 slots
Uhh, doesn't that mean brass rings are better?
But I'm sure it gets better at higher ranks, right? Well, look at the Electrum Rings (r48). Each one gives +5 Accuracy, and takes up 4 slots.
So you can wear 2 electrum rings, which give +10 Accuracy, and take up 8 slots.
So as you level up, the cost-benefit of each ring gets worse.
If they're not going to get rid of it, they at least need to fix the slot cost values.

Thanks for sharing with your players and asking for our feedback; it's much appreciated.![]()
I would vote to REMOVE the Accessory Point System; it's arbitrary and feels really tacked on. As a player, you wonder, "OK, I have 10 fingers, but I can only wear... 3 pieces of Jewelry, why?"
Regarding the 2 problems you mention:
1. Balance for Stats: I'm very excited to see the removal of the Physical Level / "Reassigning 400 Stat Points over 12 Hours" current system we have. Here are some ways to keep Statistics (Ability Points) that are meaningful if you remove this Jewelry Restriction:
A. REDUCE the Stat Bonuses on current Jewelry (mainly Rings).
I always thought that allowing us to get +5 Statistic Rings at a mere Rank 31 was pretty absurd when I heard about it. In FF XI (early years), getting a +5 STR Ring was a big deal and a goal as you got to high levels. Here in FF 14, it's common and easy to make, and optimal Rank of just Rank 31.
Change it so, the highest Rings are +5, the R31 Rings are +3, and have a +1 Ability Points set of Rings if you want. (This is after you make the changes to the Physical Level (Getting rid of the current Ability Points system of course).)
So it's easier to balance and the stats are more meaningful again.
B. Consider removing some Accessory Slots globally.
Maybe we don't need the 2 Wrist Slots, or have just 2 Ring Slots. Just some ideas, to lift the restriction on Jewelry.
2. Regarding the Inventory Space Problem if you remove the Restriction: That's OK.
I like it actually. It's the *Player's Choice* if they want to spend, say, 9 valuable Inventory Slots on all 9 pieces of Jewelry. It's a good give-and-take, problem to have for the Player to decide.
Or as others say, make a fun Quest out of increasing Inventory Space, like the Gobbie Bag Quests from XI.
Thanks!
Slot limitation is retarded. Simply put.
A lot of ideas were proposed, but what I keep in mind, is that the slot limits a lot of players.
Please take it off or augment it!
