Implementing SAM and NIN will be interesting i hope Yoshi does better than FFXI and includes a homeland ...FFXI's norg cave wasn't enough for me ...but i suppose they couldn't think of a design for a city where all samurais and ninjas are trained
Please be quiet. You're fanboy slavering over XI is actually grating.
We're annoyed because it shows a lack of effort. Everything from older games has been at least put into the XIV art style, XI mobs have not.
The art style and world of XI looks out of place in XIV. Even the races got a minor facelift to suit the world more. (so did the early mobs taken from XI too, like Peiste and Raptors)
I agree with you, but I don't think a few mobs would mean much of a difference, honestly. If it became a constant thing, sure. But right now it's just Adamantoise, which there really isn't a whole lot you can do to make a giant turtle look different without some stupid spikes or something that FFX had. Please be quiet. I don't mind either. I just get irritated with Elexia implying that all the annoyance with this is based on XI hate. Cutting corners is not a good idea tbh.I agree with you, but I don't think a few mobs would mean much of a difference, honestly. If it became a constant thing, sure. You mean it doesn't look anything like this Tiamat? I admit that there are a lot of FFXI designs being carried over when I'd rather see new designs. Did anyone else notice the Rafflesia in the last Live Letter?
I hope every single monster in the Final Fantasy series makes an appearance in FFXIV. Especially some of the skins from XI of the medium to large sized mobs that I haven't seen before or haven't seen in a super long time. Of course I would like to see something added to them and some more variation from the XI versions but this is such a non-issue.i love FFXI, its my favorite FF game but can the development team please stop borrowing monsters designs directly from FFXI?
as it stands now from monsters design prospective FFXI lead by far.
which i dont mind for stuff like mandys and goblins because they are kinda FFXI mascots and FFXI Fenrir look is the best in the series.
but i see the trend continues with Admantoise and god knows what, FFXII had really cool design for admantoise , wyrms and much more.
i really hope to see more balance with monster design.

Why no complaints about FFVI style Magitek? Why no complaints about Typhoon? That's also cutting corners using that logic.
Remember the magic sentence people throw around lately: "It's just Alpha! Let them do x, y, z then complain."

i think you should look more carefully
This is rokien in this thread :|. The original post got deleted by mods, but i managed to save it for shame...If it's not about fan service, this game is a complete joke.
WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY IMPLEMENT CRYSTAL TOWER?
WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY IMPLEMENT GOLDEN SAUCER?
WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY IMPLEMENT MAGITEK?
WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY IMPLEMENT A CARD GAME?
Pretty sure they have other things that they are going to implement from past FF.
Which makes me wonder, why didn't they fan service their core mmo players, *cough* ffxi *cough*
Hmm all this sounds familiar. HEY YOSHI, THOSE WORKED GREAT IN THE PAST, BUT LEAVE THE PAST IN THE PAST, STOP THE NOSTALGIA! PEOPLE HERE DON'T WANT THAT!
