I personally have alot of fun playing this game and for it to be successful we will need for the player base to feel as though they are on even ground. For pc players voice chat is a choice, if a shell requires it you can choose to use it or move on and play with another group that doesn't. For ps3 players there is no choice. If you dont have a smart phone or laptop then when faced with a similar situation you will not have the choice to use voice chat. What im asking for is that the choice be there for those players as well, the argument that by implementing it you will make it mandatory is invalid because most endgame shells already have such rules in place.
    ^Look what he said.

You voice chat haters, if you don't want it just join the chatroom and listen to them like you don't feel something you want to say to them. If you can't stand it, find another shell without voice-chat required... LIKE ME! Or make your own shell and your own rule saying "No Voice allowed b******!" and I'll definitely join you.

For PS3 users, before you say "But I don't have a laptop or smart phone with me," I don't think we care, it's your loss.

No, thank you. Google tried it and it doesn't work very well cause of accents or something I do not understand? I prefer hands typing text.

No offense, if you really think there some good programs that can do it. Please name it. Believe me, I am not a computer dummy.

Interesting... Can it read people talking through VOIP? You said, he uses it for typing. I can tell text to speech is working very fine, however, it will sound like a robot is what I know of. hehe
I didn't know deaf people are allowed to be a soldier but one ear? That's something.

I will probably give it another try but I am waiting for 2.0.

Oh he Didn't go in like that, the older Class Destroyers Like the Hopewell Had very poor sound dispersion for there gun compartments. he explained it like this imagine a small empty gym you bounce a basket ball there it echoes loudly, now take that same gym and fill it with industrial grade fireworks that are going off every few seconds.

as far as i know it simply converts Speech to Text, but i'm sure it works the other way around as well. hell if my 1980 Apple IIc can do it i'm sure this can do it better.

Cool, I have some questions if you don't mind... How can a program handle more than four people at a time?

Take a look at that video and turn on CC with English (transcribed).

For the game to be successful it should be as inclusive as possible especially to the ps3 playerbase. We already know that they are going to allow add ons like dbm that will make raiding easier for pc players. These differences can add up to a divide

Actually if I remember correctly, they only wanted addons like UI customization, not DBM and such. Again, iirc.

i think what will end up happening is there will be shells demanding for you to at least listen and then there will be ones that will take the time to make macro's and expect players to know what they are doing without waiting for a verbal que from a person (macro exactly the same) if a person needs to hit a button on keyboard to talk each time especially ..you could of just hit the button for a macro instead.

there will be 24man events and the one not forcing vent will have it easier to fill up with players, they can just as easily make people apply on there sites and do strict application processes, just like in ffxi. but they will still end up being easier to fill the ranks. to the point i'll go as far as saying those forcing it will start thinking of not forcing it. but this all depends on a few things. how the population is diverse, if not enough ps3 players or other country languages are on that server. the recent news about separate NA servers and JP servers has me worried ...prior to that i was positive this is what would of happened. /tosses a coin.

either way i've yet to join vent for ffxiv(or tera,d3,gw2)(was forced in swtor and warhammer for a bit then it died) and i'm sure there will always be a few linkshells not enforcing it. pvp i can see people wanting it. it's always changing, people vs people you can't depend on things working basically the same, though just the same a lot of people will just pug it. (even if losing is inevitable) lol. pve specially on farm mode? no one wants to site with head set ..imagine dynamisis events that are basically the same every run but gotta sit on vent rather then macro's and knowledge. 5hrs with a head set no thanks. and doing the same stupid 20min runs over and over and over is even worse then that.

SE new what they was doing not enforcing it, they want everyone to play together, jp, na, eu, ps3. though now like i stated above they are still giving us a chance to divide ourselves threw server locations, hopefully this doesn't impact our game play. if my NA server is empty during JP hours that i still like to play on i will be mad and if everyone is making people sit on vent to listen to them awkwardly talk to the one chick on vent talking to him then i will be very sad.
