    You still need to go in melee range with a mage, and on alot boss fights this can and prolly will kill you very fast as mage, so its not really an option.

    Talking about BLU makes no sense, BLU was a melee mage and we don't have on in FFXIV and it doesnt seems like we gonna get one soon
