No need to be snippy.
Like I said before. I'm willing to try the final result before I make my decision.
To be clear, I hope I'm wrong about it being standard MMO stock.
As you say compared to WOW no nothing did but it still had good numbers when you look at other games of the time so niche dont think so.
Yeah except this will never happen ...SE won't cater to the lonely loner that hit his head too hard on his childhood ..the 2nd job/chore MMO FFXI was doesn't need to be repeated ..how do they know that the new players don't want that if it's been 10years since they tried to make something like that? obviously they are trying there hardest to not make them like that and every mmo has failed. when they finally say lets just try something from the good ol days they might finally hit a home run. even those who complain they don't' want it like you might find they love the game.
also price of our monthly has been about the same for well over 10years too. maybe the cost of making mmo's is getting to expensive for them to give everyone what they want. maybe it's just time to raise our monthly and give us more content? i dunno just a thought lol. i'd pay 25bucks for a mmo that is catered to me and my play styles like old ffxi ...happily.
There's no need to be that rude. The guy liked how XI was. That's not a crime or mental deficiency. He just enjoyed something you didn't.
lmao ty
to the other dudes: besides how many hours of tv do you watch everyday? i didn't realize that playing that many hours was a job. also how am i a loner when i want all party play? it is you that wants solo and quick everything. if you mean out of game even if not your business i'm far from a loner. also i can easily just say that your married and whiped and think others who aren't married and still get laid more then you deserve to enjoy there gaming how they like too. we don't all need to rush to endgame b4 wife agro's and just play a few hours a week thinking ok i'm still a gamer. i dont' have an allowance from a wife that keeps me wanting to rush threw my games either, that being said there is still room for all of us to enjoy mmo's. the problem is they aren't giving us all a way to enjoy it they are just making them for the easiest, quickest buck possible.
I wasn't trying to be.
We haven't even gotten our hands on the game yet, and everyone is acting like its the end of the world. (Hehe, I made a funny.)
I mean, I totally understand why you guys are so concerned, as I am too, but it's kind of useless at this point. The servers are going down soon, and Alpha is beginning afterwards, with Beta coming after that. Once we've actually experienced it, then you'll all be justified if, indeed, the game is heading in a poor direction as you said. (As I am sure, you probably are right.) But, for now, speculating on what it may be won't get us anywhere.
I get that, but I'm not going to be caught with my pants down this time.I wasn't trying to be.

Though to be fair, I've never made a doom thread myself.
I totally understand, too. But nothing said at this time will make the DEV team do a 360. Maybe, when we're actually in Beta we could convince them.
This is the best post I've seen since 2 months after the game came out. I wish I could give you all my gil.Slow leveling, Friendships, alliances, Real epic world or instance battles (Nidhogg...Ultima), knowledge on where you are or who your guiding leader is, Exploring, respect and reputation, MEMORIES... and a lot more
This is what made FFXI an epic mmo; every FFXI player will be able to remember and tell a good memory about the game, Valkurn dunes is something that brings a smile in most of us who played the game and most of us will have a memory or a story to tell about it... This is something that doesnt happen anymore in the MMOs and thats bc you can be done with an area in a matter of an hour... No matter how good the graphics are or how pretty the waterfall is if it doesnt have a quest mark on it they wont even see it...
History repeats itself all the time and I think its time for it to start all over... all this companies looking for the new thing to do and looking for the most innovative mmo in the marked that will steal wows community are failing and collapsing and the reason why its bc they delivering the same crap with a different smell... and even do it smells different when you look at it end up been the same crap.
I think SE has their answer too success in their past, in its history... not in wows history or any other new-gen MMO...
I think its better to have a stable community of 750k-1mill for 6-7+ years then 3-4 million for 2 months...
SE please stop trying to attract the unfriendly and game sucking community of WOW and the game jumpers... Building a stable community its the key to success and if not go look at your past... and help us kill Absolute virtue again... Bring back the old community and watch how we will make the unfriendly and game suckers become part of the good community and stay in it for years...
I personally take FFXIV and SE's vision as a successful MMO as kick in the balls to all the FFXI players... hardcore and casuals that spent so much time, money and loyalty on the game...
PS: Please I dnt want to hear the "go play FFXI then" bc FFXI is not FFXI anymore...
and what ARR is showing is all the opposite of what a friendly and respectful community needs...
