ungh...
Well since we are getting it now, I have 2 requests:
1) ZERO restrictions on what anyone can wear for vanity slots - Since we'll have a 'magic costume system', why are there restrictions? Mages in darklight, Reindeer outfits in battle, naked tanks, Mages in gardening gear, etc...
2) Toggle for display of all players' vanity gear. - default setting is off
They might as well just wrap the /display head and mh weapon into vanity system as well..
Just realized I reiterated your post... Obviously I agree with all of this. This is a good example of when a toggle is needed. I'm not one for toggling everything, but I'm also not one for running dungeons with people wearing event item display on their actual gear. If you wanna look like warrior as your whm I shouldn't have to see it, thus the toggle.
"But it will be class/level restricted!"
Are people really serious in believing no one would complain if they can't do what they want with the vanity system?

Face it, there's like 5 of you who didn't want vanity slots. So I seriously doubt they will go out of their way just to add a toggle button for so few. ;x Best bet is to make a thread like Buttons did and try to rally as many likes as possible. My guess is it won't exceed 20. Better luck next time, I guess?
It doesn't just have to be the people opposed to vanity slots who would be for it. I am sure most people who are for vanity slots wouldn't mind agreeing to a toggle button.Face it, there's like 5 of you who didn't want vanity slots. Like I said, it would be a question of SE willing to put time into making the toggle button, which I believe would be harder than programming the vanity slot system itself.
If i wanna run around in my underwear fighting dragons i should have a right too. Vanity slots just add fun to collecting gear. Everyone looking the same is the boring part.
lol @ the toggle button. I swear some of you are so stuck up, lets some people have some fun.
The forum doesnt represent the whole community - if SE doesnt realize that then everyone is screwed.Face it, there's like 5 of you who didn't want vanity slots. SE has mentioned already they are a realistic fantasy style - running around in underwear, reindeer suits, and santa, and what else we can get thats "for fun" that turns into "for war gear" is going . . well make it look worse then WoW
I literally quit WoW because I just couldn't immerse myself in its overabundance of not taking itself seriously.
I dont like running around saying "ill quit because of this, or that" however, this is something that could do that for me. If you really want a cosplay game Aion has gone asshat crazy about "playing dress up".
Please dont take the only seriousness we have left, out -_-

The toggle appeases your desires as well, I don't see how having the option is stuck up. If you don't like having the option to turn it off then don't turn it off, why would other people turning it off ruins your "fun"?
