No chance on becoming a Legacy Member?

I stared playing at the beginning of June, first month was free, last month was free, So even though I've played June, July, Aug, Sept, Oct- even with 5 months, 5 jobs at 50 and all Crafts/gathering 40+, I do not qualify. I'm halfway done with my Relic, and I've talked 3 friends into joining the game, but I feel like the implicit message is that I wasn't part of the 1.0 experience by not being a Legacy member, so feeling wise it kinda sucks..

I didn't understand what "Legacy" was when I started, I was too busy trying to figure out why my MNK needed intelligence.

I'd just pay SE the stupid 30 or 50 bucks for the choco mount, the 5$ a month is whatever I'm still going to play it either way, but I do think they setup the "3 month" period as a requirement in the worst possible way for anyone like me who joined this year and have been playing for 5 months but do not qualify.

Umm... To qualify for the legacy campaign, you needed to pay for 3 months before the deadline. This meant that you could have paid for 90 days and got Legacy after your first payment (that's what I did, I started in mid-May). It may have to do with which day you started the payment period, e-mail SE about it I guess??

You're making a point that you missed the deadline by 10 days. If they extended the deadline by 10 days, you'd be happy. But what about the people who missed the deadline by 11 days (now 1 day), or 12 days, or 13 days. The cutoff is there for a reason, if they kept pushing it back simply because a subset of players missed it by a very small margin, they'd extend it to eternity. And no, you can't argue that this is different from what you're hoping to happen, because if the deadline was extended for 9 days and you missed by 1, you'd feel like crap.

ALL of october should be available for payment - they shouldn't have done any "free" time that awkwardly cut people off before servers shutdown. Also their main page should have been edited 3 months in advance to reflect a literal cutoff that is before even alpha starts (though the main page only mentions beta (which goes AFTER alpha... lol)).

Some of us actually have liked the game from the beginning...and have played through the iterative changes.

It's just an elitarist show off, after all, with no compassion at all.
In stance, it would appear they are quite happy with other's misery.
It's just a "The least have my same special mount, the more special my mount is." kind of argument.

Funny thing is, I didn't wish a flame to start at all, but people instead that not caring and not giving an answer, felt so proud and happy about my misfortune that couldn't stop themself to publicly gloat for they being special and more deservedly rewarded.

My BF is in the exact boat as you... He bough the game when it first came out, played a few months and cancelled his account. He came back in August this year and now is slightly miffed that he didn't get his Legacy status and missed out by few days - probably less than 10 days.
Yes I gave him a hug and said "tough luck" and guess what, he actually didn't think I was being arrogant, he was just annoyed at himself cos he didn't think of that.
Time to step down from the high horse OP, It really sucks that you didn't read stuff that meant so much to you, but really, no one is being elisit or arrogant :/

You missed it by 10 days so they should be lenient and let you have it?

What about those people who missed it by 14 days? I mean, if they're going to give it to you it's only fair they do the same for that person. But then if they do that, what about somebody who missed it by 16 days? And so on... There has to be a cut off point, you can't start bending rules for one person and not expect everyone else to demand the same.

Regardless of whether they made October F2P or not, the rules are the rules. Legacy is for people who were willing to pay, support and put up with the game during the months of July, August and September, and not for the people who were refusing to pay, waiting around for it to become F2P.

Your reasons for not signing up during this period are because 1. of the lag, which is something everyone has had to suffer and is the reason for this whole scenario in the first place, and 2. because your friend wouldn't play, which quite frankly, for somebody who had a dream to have their name in the credits of a game since childhood, you'd think wouldn't really matter.

That said, I know SE's information caused a lot of confusion with the wording. They really should have just said "Buy 3 months NOW and you'll get Legacy" instead of the roundabout wording they used.

"Users with service accounts that have paid for at least 90 cumulative days of subscriprions between Jan 6, 2012 and the start of the version 2.0 beta testing are eligible."

I wonder when the beta test will begin :P

People are on accident. The information about cutoffs - and the literal cutoff as SE has no idea what they are doing, were hidden. So when people say "Just reeeaddd its rirgghht thereee". They are being illogical as it was not.

Only thing available readily is "before beta begins". Has alpha even started yet? No?

Why are they cutting off October and making the whole month free?

These all go together for SE being underhanded but instead players freak out and tell them to shut up and take it (which no one has to do, specially when feeling slighted). As the people saying have legacy and dont give a crap to understand other peoples positions - it comes off arrogant.

Of course there will people now responding saying "I care, but the facts are", but you haven't really read any facts -_-. Until a few weeks ago the legacy page made no mention of a cutoff on billpay. If you joined needing one more month you were cutoff before you could even decide if you wanted to pay without incentive. As the whole point of legacy was to incentives players to keep playing (paying).

Then we will have trying to get in before the door closes talk, which is also untrue as if they wanted to be fair and "only" reward the loyals they could have not announced it and rewarded it as a surprise (instead of trying to draw back customers that left - any any still paying attention to the game). Also they could have put an actual end date - that is reliable (beta hasn't started) they didn't do that either. Or hell even design a system that only those who pay for the first three months from January, but no other months count. They wanted your money, they got this persons money - but the person didn't get what SE told them because SE closed the door early.

I'm not sure if you have Legacy or not, bit your points are more then revalent and factual, and all these people that are on here stating how we need to suck it up, when in fact people that started in august delt with the lag as well.... So, that argument has no place here... The argument is that SE is renigging on their end of the bargin, and we did support the game or we wouldn't have played the game for the time being until ARR was released... But evidently they don't care.

So your benefit out weighs others? They said legacy goes till start of beta. That hasnt happened, hell not even alpha has happened - they cut those people off just for you and you are ok with that?
