Will the grand finale be carried out as a live event?

I am not sure about others but I can't really get into a game/event when knowing the progress is not saved >.< Well..at least not in a MMO. So after November 1st, if they do something that is cool and all..but I probably won't participate..not only don't have the time but if its not saved there is just no motive for me.

It's a "end of the world" event all you will probably do is "trying to kill off stuff" but fail in the end and Dalamud kills us all. I don't think this event has any "gear related" meaning to it or anything that would require a save. It's suppose to be an "eye-candy" event. nothing more nothing less.

Right, I'm expecting whatever happens won't have any rewards tied to it, should be purely story-related and eyecandy

If it's a live event, I'll take that with a grain of salt. I get chat lag all the time on Balmung... plus, the question comes up: can the servers even take it? In a lot of other MMOs, I could see events going down because the screen could hold more than 30-40 people on one screen, and without causing th- -his t- to- h- lagggggg - app - fff - e - ... e-.. - en. *long series of AOL connecting sounds*
