The OP is not asking about whether or not YOU want to know about information. What OP is asking is IF a flood of information, as promised by SE, happened.
@ OP, IMO ... No, because there is nothing tangible atm.
PS: /wave Molly ^^ <3

lol sorry, was it in (or on the way to) the wolf camp? 'cause those really try my patience sometimes. :P
Well... 2 weeks ago SE was hoping to get Alpha up and running before Haloweeen..... I hope so.
It is clear that bringing up the new servers with the test game is causing problems. The test game is nothing new. Just a place holder on the server. Sooooo.... the problem is with the servers themselves.
Regardless, everything stops on November 1 and comes down November 11.
Beta can't even start until Alpha has concluded successfully. Sooooo... expect Beta to start before Christmas.... assuming there is not a serious flaw in the servers. Remember these servers are expected to run the Next Gen version when it comes out. These new servers are highly experimental.
OK... So Beta is going to take 2-3 months, conservatively. This means A Realm Reborn may not get underway until next summer. Alas Alack... but this is reality...
It's an environmental thing. If you're around pirates all the time, you're going to pick up on their mannerisms eventually. It's like living in different regions of the United States. I grew up in Arkansas, and you'd hear "ya'll" a lot. I've lived in Arizona for 12 years now and I've adapted to "you all" or "you guys", not so much because it's proper, but because it's what everyone else says and you pick up on it.
I took a trip back to Arkansas a few years back to catch up with some friends and listened to their accent and the way they talk and I thought to myself "This is how I used to talk?!". I even caught myself saying "ya'll" a couple times, just because I was back in my original setting and it felt natural.
Now that that's out of the way, I will agree, reading the pirate talk was REALLY annoying. Without voice acting though, there's no way SE could better convey how they imagined those NPCs would speak. It's easy to say you could leave it to the reader's imagination, but they wanted you to know how THEY wanted it to sound.
Thanks for clarifying?
Sorry for being subversive ... I was disagreeing with the premise/necessity of such a topic in the first place ... as I'm wont to do on these forums.
98% of the info we have received was already pretty obvious or they already told us. WoWHD you can have this, besides the job system that's the only thing different I see from GW2, WoW, and every other mmo out there.
HELL Secret World came out with more exciting news than FFXIV has all year. They are making ANIMATIONS BETTER not WORSE! Also adding real time combat like tera! Might have to try that game out now.

All I can hope is they really beef up their PR around beta since all this stuff right now is nice but it isn't the type of PR I was expecting. I love the demo runs and all that but it just doesn't seem enough for the entire audience. Like for me these stuff would get me hyped up but for players like say my wife she will just look at it and just go... so? it needs more impact!

And the flood did not happen unless they consider recaps new information.
