My guess is they're withholding information until the servers go down. Don't we get a live producer letter at that time?I wouldn't call it a flow, but the amount of info we've gotten recently is pretty decent. Lots of interesting stuff if you delve into it deeper. Of course some people will never be satisfied until they get a 3hr long video and 200 page long article explaining every tiny detail. And then they will complain that it's too long.
My bet is on that mainly. Yoshida was saying we will be getting stuff like videos explaining different content etc. and there's no such stuff on the horizon yet. Hopefully they will release more stuff when the game goes down to keep people more excited.
You mean at least half a year before release.
we should be getting final patch notes soon for the final events >.> i mean 15 days to go
"Thy life is a river to bear rapture and sorrow
To listen to suffer to entrust until tomorrow
In one fleeting moment, from the land doth life flow
Yet in one fleeting moment for the new leaf doth grow"
It felt like I got splashed in the face, not swept away in a flood of information.
This seems to be the truth. Only heavy new sales will be for the PS3. Most PC players will be the returning die-hard's and they (we) will get the release for free. They have stated that they are banking on PS3 sales (esp. in Japan) to revive this game. I suspect the "flood" will come when the PS3 beta is ready around mid-November.
Something that both the XI and XIV "communities" always seem to forget is that both of these games were designed and intended for console gamers from the very start. They "added" PC support to boost NA sales.
It's all about the PS3 so "please be patient and look forward to that".
SE has to reclaim some of their entire investment. The investment for 1.0, the free period, the ongoing maintenance and the minor new content we have received. ARR is a bet by SE that PS3 sales will be good.
Probably will, has the benefit that it'll be one of the few console MMOs out ontop of being a Final Fantasy title. As much as people say XIII was "THE WORST FF EVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR"..XIII-2 did pretty damn well and Lightning Saga will do just as well if not better.
We have gotten a pretty good amount of info. You can argue over whether to call it a "flood" or not, but we've hardly been left in the dark.
I would say it was more like a morning shower.
Honestly, I think I know more about what's coming in FFXIV: ARR than any other game I'm waiting for to come out. There is a lot of information out there if you know where to look. Specifically, lodestone, the forums and youtube. The problem is that the flood of information was staggered as it came out and came out in different mediums so it seems smaller than it really is.
