It's partially argumentum ad hominem abusive (the end of the statement) BUT...

...his argument isn't necessarily an argument of relevance but rather weak induction. In Firescrpio's defense this might qualify as the converse accident in which he is drawing a conclusion from a small sample size. Basically, I see at least three cars on campus every morning blasting Nickelback and, as it is not uncommon, the people blasting the music are tools. So Firescorpio may be referencing experiences like this where and projecting them onto the whole class of Nickelback listeners - which is just plain stupid. Not all Nickelback fans are tools - a lot of them are recent divorcees over the age of 40 who are trying to desperately relate to youth.

Ya, your first post actually made me crack up which is why I tagged on another irrelevant post - which I think is a better use of space at this point. Lots of people are stating opinion as fact and folks are kind of bandwagoning onto that trend.

The internet is full of trolls/elitest pricks. When they get your goat they win since they have succeeded in stroking their virtual egos while turning you into a limp noodle. Sorry for the lack of better depiction, but this is how I feel about those who get on their high horse and feel the need to belittle/bully another. Big deal, it is a virtual snob that has nothing to do with my life...so why should anyone really care in the big scheme of things?

There's something to be said for avoiding and ignoring a bully, but when it gets to the point where they can essentially control what activities you can do and what games you can play, they've gone too far, and something needs to be done about them.

Well, if it's on these forums, report 'em. I know for a fact SE at least bans people temporarily. Most likely permanently if it gets too bad, 'cause I've had a few temp bans for being a dick.

SE has an extremely fast response time on the forums lol. Was in a thread were someone kept swearing and nothing else, reported them and then 20 seconds later gone, they reupped their post and another 20 and gone again - havent seen that person since so I assume they got temp or forum banned.

If it were my LS forums I would have done the same. It's rule no 1 of my LS "1. Don't be a dick! If you're gonna be a dick, be warned that you'll be treated as such. We're all in this to have fun, lets keep it that way."

that's when you report them for harrasment which is a violation for tos in most games. Actually i've never been in a game that harrassing someone DIDN'T violate the terms of service. It's all very simple to do too just screen shot whenever they've harassed you and send that in with the report. Then again if you blacklist the person who's being the douche then you don't have to worry about further harrassment or not enjoying the game you're playing.
