Looks very slick, I love it. Sadly, no matter what kind of ingenious interface they will come up with, gamepad will always be inferior to keyboard/mouse, simply because the latter got so much more buttons.
Not this granola shit again. My pad worked wonder for any event in the game. I'm inferior doing the same things as others ?
Yeah yeah whatever you say kiddo. All that inferior gaming of the 70s/80s/90s and all.
I will never understand people like you. You think the graphics are inferior to Aion (maybe you are just so distracted by the slutty clothes that you don't notice how unrealistic everything looks) and you don't like the foundation of the class system. Those are two of the biggest selling points of the game, realistic graphics and the freedom to switch between classes; literally every other MMO fits the criteria of what it seems you would enjoy and yet you choose a game that is "broken and everyone knows it."Uh bowing to people like me when I have what? 50 posts compared to your 300+? Just shows who spams on here more, derp. If you think that AF armor didn't look great than just LOL. Although, the job system is total garbage, don't like it at all. Would prefer just 1 job, instead of how it is right now.
You seem to forget, the original XIV that did not have the job system and had MRD/GLD/THM/CNJ was not even like a normal FF game, hi where is WHM BLM PLD WAR etc? They had to do something to it because how it was noone understood why they did that. They prob got the idea from the person who thought of the "Job System" on the forums where they branch off from the armor instead.
Or maybe you don't actually play, in which case, go away. There are people who actually enjoy FFXIV.
I think I am old and blind because to me the graphics look wonderful...
But then - When I was a kid the coolest game out there was Super Mario on 8 bit Nintendo and at the time that looked awesome to me as well...
There is a little Monkey in all of us....
Games of my childhood was before there were recognizable sprites, even if you grew up in the 70s or 80s or 90s it doesn't really take much to see the shift of graphical detail between 1.0 and ARR.
LOL!
LOL! LOL!!
LOL! LOL!! LOL!!!
Antony...... learn the difference between aesthetics and graphics.
Aion doesn't have high polygon count models, high res textures or use advanced shaders.
So your personal taste might lean toward Aions art direction, that doesn't mean it's graphics are better, which they are not.
Since you shared your opinion I'll share mine. Aions graphics are low res garbage, I happen to like FFXIV's art direction and will take it over Aions any day.
I suppose I should've provided a bit more of a context. The way the game is now, gamepad works just fine. You don't gain any advantages by using keyboard and mouse, quite the contrary, the implementation of these devises is horrible. Playing this way is rather unpleasant. However, this will no doubt change in ARR, as the game is designed to accomodate both those who prefer gamepad and those who prefer keyboard.
Of course, we will have to try it out for ourselves first before passing any verdicts. Still, logic dictates that it's easier and faster to activate the ability by simply pressing, say, "F" key, instead of pressing "L2" + "left" on a pad. Not to mention that you won't be able to fit all of the abities and macros on one bar, you'll have to scroll through them. Mind you, I've never said that gamepad sucks. If nothing else, new UI beats an old (current) one by the mile. It's just that keyboard and mouse makes much more sense in MMORPG enviroment, where you got a crapload of abilities to operate with.
