Small Rant on Seal Rolls in Hamlet parties

Look, give it up....don't PUG anymore...or at least be the one who is party leader/brings friends. They didn't do anything shady or dishonest, technically, they could have passed the seal without you ever knowing...and personally, I wish they would have...it would have saved us 10 pages of you ranting that someone 'stole' your chance. They cant pass the seal without anyone knowing. Its untradeable once out of loot list.

Well they can pass it... and not say anything from loot list is what I meant, people'd have to read chat log etc...either way, 11 pages of making a mountain out of a molehill...no one took anything from anyone.

TL;DR: Helping a buddy at the expense of others is wrong now matter how you spin it unless you are honest about it and people agree to it beforehand.

Despite the fact that I agree with your viewpoint and I would not roll if my intent was to pass it to someone else... There are no rules against it, and the overall community ethos here seems to be saying it IS okay to do this.

We just need to keep in mind that this behavior acceptable in this community, even if we choose not to engage in it for personal reasons.

I had something similar happen, now I only do LS runs or I make sure the loot rules are defined by the PL before I join.

Same here, and this discussion only reinforces it. If I am hoping to a get a drop I will only go with my LS or trusted friends.

And people wonder why the game is so LS and clique centric...

IMO the entirety of relics is meant to be done with a trusted group of people anyway. Hamlets themselves are a lot more smooth with a group of people working together for points and you want a group of people that works well together for everything afterward. I'm not sure how far some people relying on PUGs expect to go in the questline.

All you can do is blame the developers anyway. Hamlets start to wear on you very quickly and require a huge time investment with a low drop rate depending on how you decide to go about it. Yes it sucks that it gets cutthroat but it's understandable that people want to get out of that phase ASAP.

I see nothing wrong with it. You also have the option of forming a hamlet party with as many of your friends you can find and/or making your own lotting rules. I think the mistake most pugs make is allowing people to /random in the first place. If you are in a pug every drop should be 'if it's in your loot, it's yours to keep,pass drop however you see fit'. period. This way, friends can help friends, but people who joined the party hoping for their own 1/8 chance, still feel like they have a chance too.

This right here. This was how my LS did it, and we never created the need to /random. Plus, despite there being 7/8 of us being LS members, it had, on several occasions dropped to the lone random person, and though we were sorely disappointed at the odds, we let it go. And if it falls to one of us, we pass it around, the random does not get angry.

I actually find it annoying when a large ls gets a pickup because they need one and then bitch when the item doesnt go to them. Even when its my own LS i'll tell em to stfu. Everyone wants to have fun, if you are in my party I dont care if you are my friend or not - I'll look out for you so long as you are not an ass hat.

Bitch? As in party chat, LS chat, both? My LS never once complained in party chat, and even if we did complain, it was done all in LS chat and was nothing outrageous. We don't have crazy raging hooligans/hotheads as members.
