PLD ENMITY ISSUE ON MISER

My LS leader tanks Miser as PLD with a DPS build (MND and STR at or as close as possible to caps). The MND will multiply the hate generated from your Flat Blade and Spirits Within combo much more greatly than any healing or Emnity would help you with. He's tried it as WAR too, but the WHMs prefer him on PLD because he's easier to heal. The group has well geared MNKs, yet, he always tells me Miser is an easy straight tank job (compared to things like Garuda or Chimera).

I think he's able to pull it off because DPS wise he's able to do as much damage on PLD as he would on WAR.

The MND wont increase the Flat Blade/Spirits Within Multipliers. @Lvl 50 and ~240 MND they are already capped.

But in saying that, STR/MND greatly increases the damage from both
~50% more damage @ around 320 STR/300 MND (up from 232 STR/234 MND) Which is much greater than HP alone.

This is a decent fight for this type of build because Miser is so squishy - and the Divine Veil buff works wonders for the Monks nearby.

I didn't want to make a whole new thread for this, but this seemed like a good spot to ask.

For Holy Succor, when you heal somone with it, and thus, heal yourself, do you gain Enmity as well for the amount you heal to yourself?

I.E. Heal Party Member A for 1000 HP, healing yourself for 800 HP. ->
Will this turn into 1800 * 0.60 -- 1080 Enmity
or
1000 HP to member * 0.60 -- 600 Enmity

Maddening Potion > Provoke > Flash > Rampart (MNKs will get it cause they are all clustered on you) > Sentinel > Aegis > War Drum > Phalanx > Spirits > Sacred Prism > Cure then redo rotation on availabillity. u should be just fine with some ENM gear on you.

If you have STR/MND gear and paeon up, you will have no problem holding hate as you spam that flat blade (still use goring though, it should give about the same hate but more damage).
No food, no potions.

Of course you are using the other standard skills like spirits within...
Also it was a battle voiced paeon, for 17min runs

I checked my gear, 336STR/281MND though you don't need it this high.
Theres a 5.5x enmity modifier on flat blade, so increasing the damage a little greatly increases the enmity from flat blade spam - so much that HDL does worse against STR/MND gear.

This doesn't work for other bosses like chimera and ifrit because it only hits them for like 10 damage...

Hmmm, do those monks already have their Relic?

With Storm LT Hooks - 360 STR, 280 INT, 748 Attack (FoF), my Howling Fist with BfB and Blindside - Crits for ~1600. (~ 25 INT Short from cap. Not going to give me much more damage)

Only the Relic could do 15% more damage than a LT weapon.



I've tried my PLD on Miser, 4k HP - 344 STR, 302 MND, 408 Acc. (Storm LT Cutlass)
750ish Spirits Within (1875 Enmity)
200ish Flat Blade (1100Enmity)

With just Flat Blade on Cooldown ~ 22000 Enmity on a 2 Minute Miser.

This doesn't work for other bosses like chimera and ifrit because it only hits them for like 10 damage...

It doesn't work as well as +Enmity and self healing + Provoke/Flash but on Ifrit with a DD setup I can do around 40 damage with Flat Blade (~ 220 Enmity)
I usually see DD's hitting for around 700+ with buffed WS's so 220 Enmity isn't a bad chunk of enmity. That and you buff the rest of your WS's. So like 600+ Spirits Within(1500 Enmity), 500 Goring Blade.

You can hit 1800 HF without Sphairai...lol.

Any MNK using 120CritAP should hit it on the high end, higher DPS weapons will break 2k.
