    Hey all,

Hvinire here, ready with another comment from illustrious development team member Komoto-san on the subject of player storage space, recipe requirements, and the evolving world of crafting:

    Greetings fellow adventurers!

With the expansion of player storage space, the development team has been talking and would like to give a quick update on their future plans. First in order to decrease the number of necessary materials, they’re looking to adjust crafting recipe requirements. This will affect storage issues, but the development team will continue to make further adjustments to directly address that concern. The development team is also planning to adjust the currently cumbersome UI; however these adjustments are just the beginning.

Also regarding high quality +1 and +2 items, we have made an adjustment where they can no longer be obtained through combat; however they are still obtainable through crafting. We would like to hear your thoughts on whether or not it’s a good idea to remove them from crafting results altogether along with any other feedback on this subject.
Now your task is clear: let's see all those comments on +1/+2 items and anything else you're looking to pass along to the development team.

I would love to see +1/+2 disappear from DoL gathering as well, that would be HUGE for my storage space.

I would be ok with removing +1 and +2 *materials* completely, but i don't think +1 and +2 *results* should be eliminated. With "results" i mean final products, as swords, shields, armor, potions, arrows. full dishes and so forth. I feel that having different degrees of HQ for those is still valuable, while it's not as important for basic and intermediate materials.

In the end though, the real long term answer to the storage problem is always the same:
    Player Housing
(and the ability to obtain further retainers)

Placebo solutions can only carry us so far.

Remove +1 and +2 from parts and materials made by crafting.
Remove +1 and +2 from materials obtained through gathering.
Keep +1 and +2 on finished items.

Hmmm I think +1 and +2 items should use the same space as normal items and not occupie another one... Also, I think that a bag extender is very necessary (because of equipments). Put a quest where we can earn a new bag...

Please keep the +1/+2 items, they add variability to everything and certain unpopular items become popular (without having to go all the way to +3).
If the unfortunate event that +1/+2 are removed, rename +3 to something else. It would be simply silly to have +3 items without the +1/+2 (the +x naming loses it's meaning).

LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
    (Marvelous economics IQ test!)

We should get rid of +1's , +2's , +3's on anything that isn't equipment. No more high quality items please! Thats my opinion at least..

Or maybe just turn +3s into "High Quality" like xi perhaps? So a +3 bat fang would be a "HQ Bat Fang"

Aiming for the highest quality item is half the fun of crafting. But four different qualities of stackable items is too much of a burden on inventory space and item organization.
I agree with ObeiKinstar's comment. Create a system that can keep higher quality items without the use of additional inventory space. Otherwise if this cant be done i'd like to see +1 and +2 items removed if it can be stacked.

My major concern in regards to item quality is the names.
    +1, +2, +3? Ewwww ugly!
Why not get rid of the + numbers on the item name and just add it to the items stats panel along side Untradeable and Unique?
And maybe even change the quality description altogether.
You could use a coloured spot, kinda like what's used for enemy toughness, to describe an items quality.
Or you could use letters instead of +1. Like this: HQ(High Quality), RQ(Rare Quality) and hmm idk CQ(Crystal Quality).
Theres so many better ways to describe an item other than just a +.

Please like if you agree. I'm Curious.

NQ and +1 (HQ) items is all we need as far as im concerned. +2 crafted items could be kept but it just seems unnecessary. Boost the stats of +1 and just keep the two quality levels like FFXI had.
Have NQ and +1 gathered materials as well.

That way it serves the same purpose, consumes much less space and is way less complicated than it needs to be.

It makes no sense to use non-sequential numbering. i.e. Moko grass, Moko grass +3. That holds no more meaning than Moko grass, Moko grass +1. At this point you're just assigning arbitrary numbers to make things look higher than they really are, and confusing people in the process. Do +1 and +2 just vanish? :/

Just my opinion. Axe +2 and +3, and boost the stats of +1 items to make them truly HQ.

What if one removed all the +n on materials, and the way to be able to obtain HQ-gear, were to enhance allready crafted items? Like somewhat reinforce an item through a synth recipe - in addition to be able to HQ with regular synthing.
That way you would still be able to make a HQ item a bit easier than it is with only using NQ items, and you would be able to make HQ-items out of NQ-items that drops from mobs/leve-quest rewards.
For unique items, this could be done by searching for upgrades in the same manner as you search for repairs in the case you are not able to do it yourself due to the lack of skill.
And of course, the recipes for reinforcing gear/items would be a higher level than making the actual item.

When logging/fishing/mining, the NQ and HQ+n tends to fill up your inventory rather fast.
