It is very important to have a house or bank to put items in in my opinion. I am trying to level many different classes and trying to keep items for later synths is getting insane, although with both retainers, maybe a bank/house storage wouldn't be necessary if they reduced the random gargbage items. I miss my inventory bags from EQ2, and I find no rhyme or reason for all the trash one gets killing things. Especially with carrying around items for all different classes my base amount of inventory is around 70! <.< Bags would help a lot with this! Would i be willing to expend lots of effort for this reward? Let's just say Resistance is Futile...

I always thought that we could have equipment that adds inventory slots.. like some belts and pouches.. that would make sense..

I have not read through all the posts, so this might have been suggested.
But seing as the game has a realistic aproach to several things (like, having to craft the parts, and then assemble them to a piece of equipment), I find it strange that they let equipped gear take up slots in your inventory.
Like: If you're out hiking, and you're wearing a jacket, does it or does it not take up room in your backpack? Nope, indeed not.

Making equipped gear not taking up slots in the inventory would also make it easier for players to carry around extra gear, which also would increase the item exchange rate, as you then will take the effort to get gear for your other classes, rather than just for the main class, and using that gear for all classes.

    So, the bottom line:
Don't let equipped gear take up slots in your inventory.

There's but a little problem with that.. admitting that your inventory were full.. if you were to unequip your armor where would it be stored if there are no free spots..?

No, we just realize that FFXIV would handle the situation like every other game in existence - if you don't have room in your inventory, the item can't be unequipped.

so we either get people complaining that it takes up a space in their inventory
or we get people complaining that they cant equip stuff cuz they dont have room in their inventory

Auction house and a separate storage for crafting materials... That would be lovely.

It can be dropped....just don't try to pick it back up

I've always liked when you dropped something, it actually got dropped on the ground. You could pick it up, other people could pick it up. When a monster died and dropped stuff, they fell on the ground. Still allows a reservation system, but also lets you decide not to pick crap up.

    Hey all,

Hvinire here, ready with another comment from illustrious development team member Komoto-san on the subject of player storage space, recipe requirements, and the evolving world of crafting:

    Greetings fellow adventurers!

With the expansion of player storage space, the development team has been talking and would like to give a quick update on their future plans. First in order to decrease the number of necessary materials, they’re looking to adjust crafting recipe requirements. This will affect storage issues, but the development team will continue to make further adjustments to directly address that concern. The development team is also planning to adjust the currently cumbersome UI; however these adjustments are just the beginning.

Also regarding high quality +1 and +2 items, we have made an adjustment where they can no longer be obtained through combat; however they are still obtainable through crafting. We would like to hear your thoughts on whether or not it’s a good idea to remove them from crafting results altogether along with any other feedback on this subject.
Now your task is clear: let's see all those comments on +1/+2 items and anything else you're looking to pass along to the development team.
