Because you obviously know how much time it'll take for them to convert the data and test that everything is working correctly, right? It's pretty unreasonable for them to take 1/3rd of a year to transfer the data to their new server (i.e. 4 months).
The November 1st date made sense in light of the fact that open Beta was originaly slated for this time, but now even alpha for western players will not be available at tihs time. So since they postponed everything else, they also need to postpone the close date. Or at least they should.
Fact is, November 1st savepoint was devised under the assumption we would have beta at this time. They obviously don't lack the capacity to keep the server up beyond this date, so they should just pospone the savepoint.
Pretty sure nobody's going to see 2.0 release until march. So unless release is in January, it's pretty premature to do the savepoint now.
Likewise you dont know anything about how long or fast it will take them. If they have delayed release for 4 months or more then logically it means they can transfer data a bit later then what they originally were planning.

I'm not the one stating it's "unreasonable" while knowing nothing of what's going on behind the scenes.
And you're just assuming that the release has been delayed "4 months or more" out of what exactly? If they have delayed release for 4 months or more then logically it means they can transfer data a bit later then what they originally were planning.

Just forgot that you have troubles with reading...
Not long time ago Yoshi said it will take about 1 Month to carry the data to 2.0, so if they taking down servers for 2-6 Months you can say for sure its not just the Data transfer.

You don't know if the time necessary has been reassessed the variables in place can easily be numerous "about a month" is hardly a firm promise. You have no idea how long the servers are gonna be down. To put it down simply, you're throwing baseless theories topped by hot air just for the sake of complaining.

You mean exactly that what you have been doing for weeks cause of regional data centers...You don't know if the time necessary has been reassessed the variables in place can easily be numerous "about a month" is hardly a firm promise. And there is still a big difference between "about a month" and "several months" and thats not baseless since the last info we got is that it gonna take about a month, but now we might have a downtime up to 6 months since JP alpha has not even started....

Congratulations for making up numbers. You have no idea of how much time the downtime will be and the "up to six months" figure is pulled completely from nowhere. You mean exactly that what you have been doing for weeks cause of regional data centers...

Some people think that professionals that work on the game they play know what they're doing, and do things for solid reasons, some prefer to think that games are run by monkeys that don't know their job and do things just to annoy them. Of course they know better, and if they were running the game themselves everything would go perfectly.
Of course one of those two kinds of people is ridiculous, the other is not. I'll let you guess which one is which.
Look who's back....
Anyway, the november 1st date was created for a different deadline (one where JP alpha was well underway) and beta was occuring right after server shutdown.
