There better be MORE casting animations than just one for all spells. That'd be just boring.

Well, I do agree that the animation could be improved, just for the movement part, I do understand some people see magic as something that takes effort to do.. but others see if as something that requires high concentration to perform, and for that, I don;t see how you can concentrate while swinging around like that.
The old animation followed the idea of high concentration, over effort, hence why hand to the forehead type of animation, sure it is static and boring, but it isn't that illogical.
I would like if the new animation were something in between, the arms circling effect is really sweet, so why not circle your arms and then stand almost "static" with some minimal bouncing motion, rather than looking as if your knees are about to give out and you will fall on your ass?
But yes, some people do love it, other people find it funny and weird... Myself, I find it weird, but it is not something that would make me stop playing :P
On the other hand, there are some pretty cool animation effects on the old version, like how the archers shoot arrows and sometimes they position their bow horizontal... I kinda love that lol...
This is the normal speed.
again, it looks cool to me.

I agree on the archer animation. The Alpha animations for archer are waaay too flashy for what an archers movements are suppose to be like. I think of precision and graceful movements when it comes to archery. The new archer animations have way too much body movement similar to the casting movement.Well, I do agree that the animation could be improved, just for the movement part, I do understand some people see magic as something that takes effort to do.. but others see if as something that requires high concentration to perform, and for that, I don;t see how you can concentrate while swinging around like that.

Thanks lol, the other super charged gif was crazy.
I think it would look better if the blue orb stayed centered and exploded there. The spell stone effect is centered on character not staff, so the orb I think, should spawn on staff like it does now, but then destroy at center when he does the outward thrust.
Anyway, I dont really have a problem with the animation - though it may look awkward when you have 20 mages casting at once (special effect overload, 20 balls bouncing up and down).
The old one looks like your character is focusing on calling upon the etherial forces to release their cosmic power through your conduit.
This one is swatting at invisible bees.
All flash, no class.
Its good for offense spells but for protect its a bit OTT. I'd look like amma bout to bring down a ball of lightning and i throw out a little cure on my whm!
