That has nothing todo with customer friendly. They try to keep ppl playing FFXIV cause they know as soon they move to other games some of them not gonna come back if downtime gonna be to long.

It's still not about winning or losing, and nothing is forcing any of us to stay here. We aren't even going to be paying for it. He's letting us stay if we want to. That's very nice of him, considering keeping the servers up will at least cost SE something. And yes, being nice to your subscribers is a good way to keep them.

From my understanding they have rebuilt the game systems and coding from the ground up. not sure how long it will take to translate everyone chr's into the new format but i dont think it will be an easy simple process. My guess is they want to give the development team plenty of time to do this before ARR launches. Besides it has to come down sometime. i dont see why people are upset about allowing, the few who want to keep playing, the ability to do so.

So many questions about ARR and all he gives us is information about the version everyone wants to go away.

I've played this game atleast every other day since beta, if not more. I can no longer find any reasons to log in I'm so bored and tired of preparing. I have no zeal left to get ready for the new version. All I have left is my patience and its giving way.

Especially knowing this game is another half year away. If they do it right. Lets be honest here.

I feel the same exact way >.< I have every class/craft 50 and am bored to death with the game sadly. There is nothing to do as the game is not PUG friendly and insists on having players form a clique and play with the same 8 people constantly...gets boring. Does not feel like a MMO...etc.

Where is all the info on beta and the games release? If they are so close to taking down servers they should at LEAST be able to say when beta is or be starting it soon. If they are not even ready to announce when beta is by no means should they be taking down the servers/saving character data already. It is really confusing me what is going on. They need to stop with the classified/secretive shit and just be as open as possible or else people are just going to lose interest if they haven't already. I know most of my buddies have ._.

they need to go back to in house testing, but people to cheap to hire interns/testers anymore, cheaper for others to do it for free. always had better results when they did it in house.

They still have "in house testing". But you can't stress-test an MMO in-house, no matter how big your QA department is. Besides, an alpha/beta test and regular QA/focus group testing are two completely different things.

Also: lol at using interns for good QA.

Well of course I can, but I haven't beaten her, I'm glad I'll still have more opportunities in the current version with or without the record of it.
