I was thinking about this the other day and thinking of other examples that xi and other games brang a sense of danger and threat to the world to liven the place up, i bring it back to wotg world with all the epic battles and music combind gave quite and urgent feeling and the rush to fight off the beastman hordes ,changing the overwise peaceful areas into war zones, i go to think of soemthing like Rift to, it isnt something ive played personally but again the same idea comes around with the Rifts in the sky opening up and completly changing the atmosphere of the area area the air sky and the factor of danger it brings players to unite for the good of the world.

If it is implemented it would be great to see these seamingless peaceful areas turn into places of dread much to the atmosphere of an Area like Mor Dhona.

I remember something similar from requiem: bloodymare, where a change in weather or a certain time of day would bring out tougher monsters. It'd certainly give behest more meaning.

I would greatly enjoy it if night time changed the zone more. Lots more ambient lighting, fireflies, luminescent foliage, different enemies/critters, cricket type sounds, different music, etc etc. The zones are just so big and unchanging that something like this would really help, imo.

Also, seasons would be so amazing (I know it'll probably never happen). They can take advantage of their copy pasta terrain by making snow texture versions and so on. With their current set up, it'd be a lot less of an undertaking compared to other games (though still extensive).

That lightning from the weather demo way back in the day...is that in the game (besides the lightning in the Limsa intro)? It looked so cool.

Beastmen tribes should wander in groups between their outposts, laying waste to any players that get in their way. Everything should have a motive and change dynamically depending on their interactions with players and the environment. Nothing should be a fixed variable.
Definitely, by having a proper ecology it will make the world so much more interesting and give more possibilities to link things together (beastmen, quests, leves, etc.) instead of having NPCs tell us things that do not appear in the world outside cutscenes. Even if making level up parties get a bit more difficult, it sure will make things a lot less boring in the process.
After all, this game is to have fun, not be another job.

Square-Enix has power to make it reality, if we show them that we truly want that.
And, it would be very amazing since very few MMORPGs have this change of seasons (and more).

LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.

Seems like we have other threads about making the game play more lively and less static. I'm linking it in this thread since I believe it can also belong to what has been discussed here.

The world needs something similar to lolRIFT. Random enemy waves that can appear anywhere.

I hate to compare, but RIFT has these waves of monsters that appear from a random rift anywhere in the zone. The rifts themselves also display what level they are (Lv.10, Lv.13 etc) for the waves of enemies/boss.

Anyway, when i first saw this and how lively it made the world feel, it made me wish SE would adopt a similar strategy.

Hey guys! We spoke to Producer Yoshida and he likes your ideas about bringing more life to Eorzea and will be looking into them further. Currently the development staff is preoccupied with fixing systems with high priority so these ideas will take a little longer to be implemented but please look forward to it.

What other ideas do you have that would make Eorzea feel more alive? ^_^

Or the original idea, FFXI's Besieged, Campaign and Dominion Ops.

No, no, and no again. Rift's rifts are freakin BORING, and ANNOYING. Sure it's cool and makes it feel more "alive" the first few hundred times you're forced to do a rift cause they're attacking the place you need to turn in a quest....but when you login and want to do something other than rifts, it's really frustrating and irritating.

Just, as a little example, Rift was so mind-blowing that I didn't even make it through the whole free month after buying the digital collector's edition....please don't take ques from this game, unless your goal is to completely revamp what they've done.
