    Yoshida also mentions that they're trying to work out an "alias" system, which will allow your gearslots to use the same item across all sets. So it's still something that they're looking into. I personally think the gearsets will work fine, though not as wonderfully as I originally thought they would.

    Agreed. AF, DL, Uniques makes up a large part of endgame gear. There's going to be a whole lot of people not using gearsets because macro's will work out better in most situations.

    Why make a system a large amount of people won't use? I love the idea, and it will be fantastic for DoL and DoH classes, but anyone flipping back and forth between gear on different builds or even different jobs will be left in the dust.

    With the inventory drop, this will only get worse. At least half of that will be used up by gear, I'd estimate. At least.

    The problem is the planned GearSet actually is an additional gear inventory in disguise. Each slot holds an actual item. I am assuming what we want is gear set hold the reference (shortcut) to the gear, in that case we will able to hold same reference (of an item) in different gearset. But the item itself will stay on bag inventory slot (just like current inventory).

    CMIIW on this. If anyone has better idea on how it should be implemented (technically), please share, we need to give them good input.

    at least we can discuss what are possible implementations that will satisfy most of us. Is there any other MMO that implement this?

    i'd like to see how it works before getting to excited about what we have heard so far. i like the idea that it wont take up inventory space, but there needs to be a system to avoid needing to have multiples of the same item. without seeing exactly how it functions currently then it will be difficult to make suggestions on how to make changes. it might actually be something simple or it might mean a complete overhaul or the creation of an equipment inventory separate from the item inventory.

    That's right! As was mentioned in the Producer Letter Live, though the macro feature will not make it into the Alpha version, it will be implemented with the Beta, so we would love for you all to try it out then and offer your feedback.
