Hey..its not my money and game success that matters, its SE. I was just merely stating the opinions my friends have on the game and if they are willing to give it a chance. Based on what is out now...the answer from them all is HELL TO THE NO. /shrugs

When they heard there is nothing at TGS they were just laughing and saying "Yup, SE is still the same I see...retarded"

I don't mean a few people either, I am talking about a large base of people that I interact with. So telling me all of this stuff is pointless (If you are talking to me I have no idea lol xD) its the other people you have to tell this to!

Not trying to defend SE or anything, but this is crunch time for them, they can't afford any setbacks. I'm sure they will hold some kind of "Special Event" for this game when they get closer to a release date.

Either way you slice it,All the Trailers and info they were given still had "mixed" feelings about the game itself. So trying to advertise further will only just be a waist of time. The 2 key factors for this game to Succeed is SE makes this a Fantastic game and the word of mouth ( Gameplay Videos/Screens of the final Version). Those are the two keys for this to work out. Advertising is good for New games, but for a game that failed in the eyes of the consumer, its kinda hard to persuade those deceived eyes.

I think it's hard for them to advertise the game when they are still hammering out the fine details of how it will turn out exactly. Last thing they want is to say something and turn around and axe it the next day before release.

I think we will see more advertisement come nearing the end of Beta, but even then it will be on the players to spread word of mouth about the game. We can probably effect more change than SE's entire marketing team combined due to the public view on SE in general as it stands alot of people take what they show/tell with a grain of salt.

Advertising is good for MMORPGs in general, this is the main reason WoW is popular because you couldn't look at any website without seeing it advertised.

If you were to do that in SE case post ads all over for FFXIV: ARR, still in peoples minds it will be meh that game sucks. Need more then just "ads" in this case of a failed MMO

I honestly have not seen SE advertise anything in...idk how long. When is the last time you saw a SE commercial on TV for any of their products? >.> For WoW they showed stuff in prime time constantly...everyone, even my mom would say"OMG this world of warcraft commercial..AGAIN!!!"

I have never heard anyone complain about SE advertising something too much. But like I keep saying its their problem not mine. I do not really care.

If they do not have anything to advertise with, okay that's fine. They should have known though Fall to Christmas (Black Friday) is the busiest time of the year when people buy new stuff...that is the BEST time to advertise anything. Then after Christmas it does not pick up again until March iirc.

SE's advertisement is mainly in Japan much like Blizzard's is mostly in the US. Look at even Nintendo, you see advertisement on TV but not as much as x north american company, Nintendo advertises much more in Japan as well, just like Capcom and Konami.

And Elexia yeah that does make sense I understand. SE should keep in mind they should advertise heavily to all the audiences they are appealing to, not just their own country.
