People need to learn to adjust to the time and environment or else they'll suffer and loose. If people segregate because they're given a choice then I don't believe SE is the one to blame. This way you will know who your real friends are and meet new ones and life goes on. (hopefully for the best)

Human beings adapt and overcome because it's in our nature. It's the only way to survive. If that's not in your nature, you can choose to quit.
