I have a few friends who after seeing the new trailers are interested in trying out the game but the online copies are no longer available it seems. Too bad for them? They have to wait until ARR maybe?

I believe it is SE's intention to not sell more copies before ARR.

if they can find a copy they need to hurry in 8 days you can't register a character and char creation will be disabled....

They're just going to have to wait for the beta. There is honestly no point to even start playing at this point of time besides to experience the live world end event, which I'm sure alot of people will stream online or record.

NOV 1 - Character data save maintenance
NOV 11 - world end event.

very good point because even if they got their account know they wouldn't be able to play after the 30th since they wouldn't be a paying customer yet then again they may i don't know lol might have read lodestone wrong

As long as your 30 day free trial end date is after September 30, 2012, you will be able play the game for free until operation of the current version of FINAL FANTASY XIV terminates.

New users who wish to register a new account after September 30, 2012, 0:00 a.m. (PDT)

Registration services will have ended and you will not be able to register a new account to play the current version of FINAL FANTASY XIV. You will have to wait until FFXIV: ARR is launched.

All FFXIV 1.0 Copies have been taken off the shelfs like a month ago. I'm sure you can Pre-Order FFXIV: ARR though ( whenever it comes out)

Nope. SE has given credits to merchants to destroy the remaining inventory of the original version.

If you don't already have a copy of the game or a buddy pass and a friend who can install it for you, you're SOL until 2.0.

I have 4 buddy passes I have yet to use so if they still work and they let you d/l off of that site you can have one but like others have said, the game goes offline in like 40 days so i dont really see a point in it.
