Same logic as why they're shutting off billing over a month before the data is no longer saved and the servers are shut down. If they sold new copies/codes right up to 9/29, you'd risk people buying copies only to find they can't even register them. "Omg, I paid money, opened the box so I can't return it, and I can't play!?" *angry-head-shake-slobberfest*

Technically, they aren't even suppose to be selling them anymore, they were asking to destroy them. Same thing with everyone else that's selling them.

Theres probably quite a few still trying to sell them, as I'm sure SE credit offer was lower then what they would make off the game. Personally I wouldn't buy from a store like that again if they knew, simple way of finding out is asking the manager if they knew this.. if they claim not to have and it still stays on shelf.. bad business

Well getting them now is pointless because you have to " Pay" for September, and if you don't then you only would be able to play for 6 more days. It be a wait of money, I'm not sure if you'll get FFXIV 2.0 for free at this point.

actually u can still register your copy and get the free month and since your account will be active afters sept. bcz of the free month you are good
