Still didn't see any compelling argument about gear having to be "rare". The game isn't already bursting with content. Not a good idea to make what content it already has even less accessible.

umm its an mmo it is bound to happen as it ages like in ff11. people start getting stuf which means less and less competition. which is why ridill is common now. A ton of ppl had that stupid sword yet no one used it, it was mearly for status. Like kirin osode, ppl used it as a status symbol.

And trust me I wasted 6-7 years of my life playing ffxi, playing around 12-20 hour 7 days a week. My ex b/f paid for my count and every addon. That is how bad my life got. You do not what to enhd up like that...

Being good means defeating the content that everyone has access to, when others are not capable of doing so.

Nothing to do with having the best bot, being the team that claimed that day, or being the lucky guy that got the item with the 1% droprate.

anything past the first day has aged. And you were talking about ffxi not ffxiv. In ffxiv everyone has see or done everything already Same for ffxiv also. 24 hour timers do not make anything more "difficault" It jusr makes it less acessable to those who are not NEETs.

All caps or underlinging doesn't give more solidity to your theories. Quite the contrary.

Now the content is accessible (as it should be). Crank the timer up to 24 hours and it becomes much less accessible.
And since the game doesn't have that much content, it's obvious that they should focus in putting in content that's accessible to everyone, not just to a selected l337 few (read: the few that can affort wasting time camping stuff for hours on end).

The point in playing should be having fun, and waiting for something to pop isn't exactly my idea of fun.
