    It's not just that but for the most part people dont care or comment on positive threads. i have left a few positive threads or some offering some thoughts or ideas and the most it gets is 2-3 pages of comments. If its not scathing, highly opinionated, or something people have heated disagreements on its generally ignored.

    OP: i have to agree with you, i'm quite happy and excited to see how things will be in ARR. already i'm able to play and enjoy the game in its current state (something i was unable to do for the first year+) i'm also excited for the new features they are planning for the future like PvP, Golden Saucer, Player Housing, and Choco breeding. I only wish more people would realize that just because you dont like a feature dosent mean other people would not like or get great use from it EG: local servers. you dont like it, dont use it. just dont think so highly of yourself that your preference should be justification to deny others the opportunity.

    Just watched the last letter from the producer & I understand the footage is still in early stages but I'm starting to feel that "concern" some of the other posters have been making. I think it's sinking in that the game as it is now is changing, totally, as in not just the play but the entire look & feel. Honestly, I don't think the entire game needed to be reworked, as a newcomer it's honestly not bad, really. I agree 100% it needed to be tweaked & ramped up but not totally redone. The more footage I see lately, the less I'm starting to feel that it's, "just early gameplay".

    The hit animation is overly exaggerated, both for players & monsters. Can't say i'm a huge fan of the cast animation, either. Does the current game really look that bad? My gripe is mostly w/ mechanics, controls, features & content. My initial excitement regarding the gamescon trailer revolved around being able to jump (better terrain navigation), better UI features, to name a couple, but now I'm not sure what to expect. Guess will have to wait and see, just becoming concerned at this point & not much to go on but the little they feed us. Hopefully will all work out!

    Here's the thing though, as far as the graphical engine goes, it needed to be reworked. It's fine for people who have the money for a high end PC, but some people can't afford to get a brand new gaming PC just to play. Hell, I nearly wasn't able to get a good enough computer to play it, but I got incredibly lucky and was able to get something decent.

    Having graphics that are a lot more scalable is so much better for everyone. And yeah, I can't help but feel pangs of worry too, but I'm definitely not into panic mode yet. I'll wait until they announce a release date before I start to consider panicking. By then I might be in beta, and I'll have a better sense of what kind of progress we've made first hand.

    On top of that, there's also the limitations of the engine itself. How many times have players asked for a feature to be added, only for the devs to respond, "The engine won't really let us do that. . ." Reworking everything from the ground up was definitely the right thing to do.

    They didn't say that at all. They said they didn't want to use the animations, which I think is worse.

    You meant that the animations are limited because they wanted more responsive movement right? Or do you not know the difference between a graphics engine and a gameplay mechanic?
