    Not really, it's still supported in Japan, also the PS3 is much more powerful than the PS2. The PS2 was extremely weak processing wise and memory wise, the PS3 is not. There will obviously be some limitations but nothing that will limit the game, you have to remember it took them 4 years before the PS2 started to hurt FFXI.

    You have to figure XIV will survive even that long for the PS3 to become a problem.

    This next XI expansion will still see PS2 support in Japan only? Didn't know that.
    And sure, PS3 is obviously way stronger than PS2. I wasn't trying to talk in the now rather than what will come down the road, a long ways down it most likely.

    Yep only NA/EU support was being dropped. Like I said you mainly have to assume XIV would survive long enough for the PS3 to become a problem and by then they'll likely find workarounds like they did for XI and the PS2 (Mog Sack and porter mog for example.)
