News to me, I thought this communities logic rested on:
"People don't post about what they like."
Least, this is what people use to justify the negativity about XIV versus the oh so happy in-game community.

I dunno, personally I tend to think of her as the blunt fistful of truth to people that are too busy covering their ears and denying everything. The signature image fits so perfectly.

This.Frame rate issues aren't really that big of a deal. I mean you can see them here too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNtB5DoJ6OI
The problem is - unlike in the video quoted above - SE have yet to really show anything worth seeing or getting hyped up about (which last time i checked was the point of a trailer?). So there's basically no redeeming features on display to alleviate whatever misgivings people would have toward the technical aspects (like fps rate) of a game that's obviously still in alpha. There's nothing really to draw anyone to the game besides slightly downgraded Version 1.0 graphics.
I have to say that if I were an outsider to XIV I wouldn't be excited about this trailer for those reasons.
As a XIV enthusiast it still makes me cringe a bit because of those non-forest areas look the way they do and even as a player I don't avtually see any visible changes to the battle system aside from that now-milked overdrive.
It's cool but not news headlines cool or preorder day 1 buy-cool.
Also pr time is running out. XIII games were promoted for almost a year but XIV has few months to release.

News Flash! 2.0 has never had a chance to accomplish 'preorder day 1 buy-cool.' Never even remotely a consideration. They are trying to improve a horribly conceived and executed game. Oh by the way, in under 2 years. "Great result" is out of the equation. All that SE can hope for is a redeeming of the game. Bringing it to the level of XIII (not critically acclaimed) is the cap. This perspective brought to you from a fan, btw.
People need to reset their expectations about this game because they are getting unrealistic, again. Major systems, battle, armoury, class/jobs, etc will all remain relatively unchanged. Throw in better servers, some FF classic elements, and standard MMORPG quests/progression and there you have it.
Those expecting some innovative gameplay should look elsewhere.

(joking for those who's sarcasm detectors are broken)
Never said I expected that. In fact I agree with pretty much everything you said there.#101

Unless I see it and play it isn't there. That's why I don't buy this "oh that's only temp assets they're showing in an international trailer"-stuff.

I am preaching to the choir then. Must....find....another....parade.....to.....rain.....on.
