Considering that Atomos -> gil trick is only going to work AS LONG as the GC event is happening....Atomos may be staying, but the GC event won't be.

Sorry some pretty dreary math last night. I blame the bad hotel and zero minutes of sleep.
1000/15 = 66.66 batches
16 crystals per cycle [1 hour] = 4000 seals = 4 turn ins [just using this as a baseline, may be lower or higher]
66.66 batches x 10 drops x 4 turn ins x 125 [price] = 333300 gil per hour
333,300 gil per hour x 10 hours = 3.33 million gil per day
21 million gil a week.
It's too much money.

I've calculated a 10 hour day shift each day during the week at about 2.3 million gil being optimistic and getting 16 crystals each hour - likely higher than average.
While the amount of money going into the game is concerning, I don't think it reaches the level from the game's launch and ridiculous amount of money earned in a few minutes. When our market is less dreary, I usually earn about 1.5 million gil per week on crafted items from my retainer sales, and it can reach up to several million [and I'm not terribly aggressive with it]. Materia sellers and gatherers make a lot too. I think we're seeing people acquiring and then spending gil rapidly as a source of this inflation and not as a result of overall gil coming into the system. This gil is just going to gather more and more into the crafters who are amassing money, so whether it makes an impact or not is questionable.
I know ppl getting 10+mil a day
I have to kind of agree with you and other people in this topic about the people that are just amassing gil. The people that the gil is going to in the long run are the ones that basically just collect it. For every 60 people that are making a mil a day for this event theres one person that has like 500 mil thats just sitting there. On an unrelated note, the thing i think is odd about this event, and the REAL reason that all this money is coming into the system is the fact that you can check the stones multiple times, which is kind of baffling to me. They should have made it so you can only check the stone once per kill, kept the clusters in and removed the gravity effect so theres a chance of getting anima, getting 5-7 crystals, a cluster, or flee when you check on the stone meaning youd get one chance at a decent award for every atomos kill.I've calculated a 10 hour day shift each day during the week at about 2.3 million gil being optimistic and getting 16 crystals each hour - likely higher than average.

Yes but you making 1.5 million gil on the Market Wards isn't the same thing at all. That's just gil that's getting transfered between people and the gil has no real effect on the economy as a whole. When millions of gil are coming out of nowhere (NPCing things by the thousands) that's a real problem. That's a huge amount of gil that's being introduced into the system all at once and will definitely cause an inflation, its severity dependant on how much this is actually being done. They should have made the stuff unNPCable or increased the price of the items in seals, if they did that even slightly it'd have been better than what could be a major inflation.
thats mostly bcz less ppl are sbing and there are less ppl right now in generalIf this Atomos event doesn't end soon then the value of gil is going to drop to nothing. Touch of Rage/Savage Might/Heaven's Eye has shot up 700k-1m in price in the past 2 days... It doesn't stop there, almost everything has shot up a good 50% in value on the wards in the past 3 days.
Inflation is awesome isn't it?
the thing that makes it insane gil/hr is the fact that for 45-50 minutes per every hour you can spend gathering/crafting/sbing and then for 10-15 minutes click on a rock for amazing ... say... gil per minute.
