JP prefer global servers just as much as we do, the fact that most of you refuse to even try is not my problem. The only EU's that will go to NA are those that have wierd work hours and vise versa which also only fits into that normal server prime time. Reguardless if a NA server has EU people, they are only there because they fit prime time. We do not want 1 prime time on every server.

the only way i see any significant amount of jp joining a global server is if it was physically located in japan- and this is a good reason for NA and EU players not to join the server. not to mentian this could be seen as favoritism on SE's part which is probably the single most important reason SE wont do it.

im from the UK and im actually considering joining an NA server because i prefer to play with americans over french and german players. no offence intended to anyone of course.

however i cant stand the thought of being caught in an eruption when i might not have been had a chosen an EU server, but i think thats beside the point.

i think that what we are getting can be considered global servers.. you just want a server to have the name "global" but really i dont think that would make a huge difference.

i mean if they were going with true segregation then i would be with you 100%- but that isnt the case, they have come half way with you guys allready and your still complaining.

Edit: Also this "eruption" lag your using as your example is because we are playing on a FPS game server, that is it, FF11 had absolute minimal lag and it was all based in Japan, its about server structure and how much is client side, FF14's servers are 100% shit, it has almost nothing to do with physical location of the servers.

Not the biggest fan of how you put it, but that's the crux of my argument as well. Is it really so hard to label 2-3 servers as Global and all the others as regional? How does it affect you "latency haters" so badly? You'll still get to pick a regional labeled server and move on with it!

And don't tell me that staying on our current server is equivalent because it sure as hell isn't.

this wont work. The servers cannot be physically located globally, and people will know where they are located. Most people will just click past them anyway because they want to be on a server where people speak their language and get the best ping. Labeling the servers in this way is practically a lie as it is.

yes thats why i said "beside the point" i was just explaining why i persoanlly was going with an EU server.

like i said in a previous post i could care less whether or not there are "global" servers, but i am trying to put in some logic and reasoning and when i would hope to get the same in return, instead i get some moron telling me to "gtfo"

are you seriously comparing this game, not to mentian 2.0 to FFXI? FFXI is a slow game, your not expected to dodge anything, latency makes allmost no difference in that game,

whereas in FFXIV it makes a huge difference since obviously people complaining about eruptions and other things.

Its about new people comming to the game, if people like it or not, good game or bad game, people will quit, if its labled as a NA server and you have an EU division (like my ls does), it will sooner or later die, guilds/ls's need new people, it is impossible to 100% membership 10yrs down the road, people leave, I do not want 100% to be NA, it will come down to a 3hr prime time and ill end up quiting from bordom. Having it labled as "global" reguardless if its in Japan will get people from all time zones and keep these ls divisions alive, it happened in 11, its happened here, you cannot tell me it doesnt work or make a difference, because it already happened.

The fact that servers are labeled as "global" is not a lie, its meant for people from around the world and when you see it, you know there will be a population on the server from around the world, for all time zones, a server labeled as NA, specifically for NA, will only have a small prime time, EU/JP will only join if thier work scheduals or something forces them to do so and fits in that small prime time.

to expand on what i said before, this basically sums the whole thing up- The Japanese, being the most xenophobic of the cultures most playing this game (This is not meant in an offensive context, just to make that clear), are the least likely to join a "global" server, with the possible exception of the server being in japan. Thus you will most likely end up with mostly NA and EU players on it, and that server is still less multicultural than the current servers or XI servers are. It would only half-succeed in its goal at best.

If there are "Global" servers and "JP" servers, and theres a decent population of JP's on the "Global" server, than its fairly safe to assume they chose it because of the fact its "global", so if there are 0 JP's on the Global servers, then i guess your right.
