I do agree that we been spoiled to the point where if 2.0 has something missing all hell will break loose :P. If 2.0 was the Original FFXIV, would we still be here complaints about the animations? That remains a mystery :P.After going about my business yesterday and taking the time to read every post since I posted, I sort of get why Nemy is so upset, and the others. Those animations were really interesting and did provide a nice, albeit very first world, touch.
The following is purely a question and not meant to be some sarcastic question. I heard somewhere that the way we move our characters is changing in 2.0. I saw Yoshi strafing more, wouldn't that mean that the quick turn to run animation wouldn't ever need to be used? The turning animations should definitely be in the game however, there isn't much reason for those to not be in there, and i do have confidence that SE (who are are in love with having great graphics) would put at least those in.
I still think most users who haven't played FFXIV 1.0 wouldn't complain about it. I feel like we complain because we've been a bit spoiled by it. For a time the game used to be nothing but its great animations. (or so it seemed) I hope SE can find a way to please everyone, but in my experience in life, that just won't happen.
Maybe the only way to maintain sanity is to really and literally forget EVERYTHING in 1.0. Forget it ever happened and treat ARR as a completely new game. I think that's what S.E. wants from us anyway. OR at least that's seemingly what they're trying to pull off.
If everyone were to treat this game as a "Brand New game w/ perks", then I could even be agreeing with some of these concerns. But I just feel that, some of these concerns are brought up because 2.0 is taking away from 1.0. If they forgot 1.0 even existed. I wonder how the comments would be in terms of "What the Quality truly is" and not " They took this away from FFXIV now its going to fail" type attitude.
I would be, I would be. I complain about gw2 animations~
