Disappointment ><
Being a non-hardcore gamer, with a non-hardcore linkshell full of people who have jobs, the only upside to my disappointment over this is that now I don't have to hang out at Dragonhead anymore.
There's no way I'll be able to gather enough people from my linkshell quickly enough to lay initial claim to the mobs.
exactly,I know you probably hear this alot; but why can't it be like GW2 where it doesn't matter who claims; everybody can get something independent of each other?
All public/group event's that aren't instance (basically most mobs/nm's) will drop something to you if you helped kill it; but the rarity factor affects that of course. ^^
i think like GW2 after the end of the boss a chest would pop up with goodies, i mean you give people zero initiative do out out there and do stuff like that. i mean i'm sure if you give people a chance at the drop there will be people there. If they get nothing because of the claim, this will lead to MPK and LS vs LS fighting with the stronger elite LSs.
hell i bet people wouldn't mind DM

You mean, like right now? Cause i've already seen LS vs LS fighting on this imperial event lol.exactly,

It takes 8 ppl to beat this thing and it pops at 4 camps. Lol im sure it will be overcamped first few days but like everything else it will dies down bc the hats are subpar at most.
I consider myself a casual player and I got the tricorn already. If you wanna give up on it, that's your decision, but with the way leashing resets claim near about constantly, if leashing it being done, then really all involved have a fair shot at the drop.Disappointment ><

Player
I guess what I'm saying is it would be nice for events to be an all out affair like Yoshi envisions PvP
Prime example:

I'm level 33, in a low zone, so I'm scaled down to 17 with all my 33 abilities (level synced)
Anything I attack I have a chance at getting drops on.
I'm not saying all stuff in xiv should be like this but it prevents camp griefing. The forced level sync means you don't clear a zone; but at level 35 my abilities i learn are worth a lot more at 17 than 17 with no skills.
You should all join LS's.
This is how Rift's 'open world' events work, they're not without drama from some segment or other of the playerbase but generally I think it's preferable to the asinine camping situation XI suffered from and now sadly XIV is also following.I know you probably hear this alot; but why can't it be like GW2 where it doesn't matter who claims; everybody can get something independent of each other?
