Being a non-hardcore gamer, with a non-hardcore linkshell full of people who have jobs, the only upside to my disappointment over this is that now I don't have to hang out at Dragonhead anymore.

There's no way I'll be able to gather enough people from my linkshell quickly enough to lay initial claim to the mobs.

I consider myself a casual player and I got the tricorn already. If you wanna give up on it, that's your decision, but with the way leashing resets claim near about constantly, if leashing it being done, then really all involved have a fair shot at the drop.

Honestly, I've never seen the H-1 drop anything, but all six of the elites can drop either hat, and I'm assuming that the H-1 can drop both hats as well.

But if the enemies are leashed, and claim shifts, does the loot still go to the original claimants?

no, just like anywhere else. the loot goes to who had claim when the mob died.

Yup, and with leashing the mobs who knows how crazy claiming becomes in that confusion?

You must have claim at time of death. People can take claim at 5% and get the loot.

pretty sure people can kill steal the robot or some of the mobs by dragging them to the leash border if a party tries to fight it on its own right. hm...

It takes 8 ppl to beat this thing and it pops at 4 camps. Lol im sure it will be overcamped first few days but like everything else it will dies down bc the hats are subpar at most.
