I can see it being a benefit for performance, but I really do like teaming with friends & find new acquaintances around the JP & Europe timezones.

I myself don't even play with JP players because you not even allow to play with them but regional servers would mess up friendship of people that play in other part of the world that know ENG but live in other part of the world.
In FFXI i remember always getting in JP players and one time being kick for other JP player but most of the time i was allow to party with them in FFXIV it really become JPONLY thing while everyone else does not care as long as you know what you doing lol.
Also i been reading a lot in that topic and it seem a lot of JP don't mind that that the servers are mix but a lot do care so not sure i can't really read most of what there saying google thing sucks lol. Most JP don't agree and i read someone saying learn eng lol most are saying no to JP,NA,EU servers that they like the idea of mixing of the worlds.
But not 100% sure google thing sucks sometimes lol

Going burst your bubble but you just gave a good example of somebody who partially read comments -- start to read the first couple of words then make up the end.My understanding of cloud computing related to gaming is instead of having a your own server farm for your game you buy server space from a ton of random hosts. It's usually used for games with low subs, and the benefit is that you get one gigantic world instead of unique instances of the game on separate dedicated servers. The trade off is instead of lagging when a bunch of people are gathered in one spot you just lag all the time lol.
Unless my understanding is totally wrong there is no way this could be what Yhosida was talking about. For one you would have to totally reword the game from the group up, and you would have to basically just be wasting the servers they already paid for. In addition to that he wouldn't be talking about servers or worlds at all, because we would have just one big world instead.
I wasn't implying they'll use cloud computing, I was being sarcastic about cloud computing being trendy nowadays and as reason why people start to talk about data centers with little knowledge about what they really are. If you had read what I wrote to the end, you surely would have understood that I was being sarcastic about cloud computing and the sync solution somebody talked about. geez those stuck ups..

This post has just made my dayThe Japanese have been pushing way harder for regional servers than we have. Use a translator and check this thread with more than 1000 posts: dedicated server for each language
I'll warn you before you read it though, there are some very racist posts.
A lot of you in this thread are really confused by what a data center is. A data center is just a place that houses servers.
These are the direct words from Yohida's mouth: I really don't know how people are getting confused about this. It seems pretty clear to me. Either this is a horrible misunderstanding, or you guys are trying to make your wishes become a reality by believing they are true hard enough.heart wrenching for the japanophiles, a small victory for everyone else who just wants to have fun.
Considering how over sensitive the 'stereotypical' member of Japanese society is, their opinion of our forums is probably a loooot worse. IDK why everyone wants to play with them so badly. Some of them are great, BUT, they only let you play with them when it suits their needs and all other resources have been exhausted. When you do manage to squeeze into a party the only reason you think they are being nice to you is because a) you can't google translate so many japanese phrases in such a short ammount of time, you have no idea what they could be saying about you. b)if any of them do speak your language, they just don't know how to belittle you in it, that's all.

I wasn't suggesting that you were implying that they were going to use cloud computing. I understood what you meant, but it seems like misunderstanding is on your end. The way I understood your post was you were saying the reason why so many people may be confused is because cloud computing is becoming popular. I was offering the reason why there is no way cloud computing is the direction SE is going to the potentially confused people, not you.Going burst your bubble but you just gave a good example of somebody who partially read comments -- start to read the first couple of words then make up the end.

Glad you liked the post. I thought the same thing when I posted it XD. In regards to your second paragraph, there is an app for translating in game text to and from Japanese. I don't use it though. I don't have any interest in playing with people who don't speak my language. This post has just made my dayheart wrenching for the japanophiles, a small victory for everyone else who just wants to have fun.

Even if there is, the fact that PS3 users can't use said application cripples any hope of them communicating with foreign languages beyond the bounds of auto-translate, especially if they use the tv for their computer and they don't have a smart phone.Glad you liked the post. And no, me neither. Not because I'm a bigot, or a racist, but because I enjoy the ease of simple communication.
Who's everyone? Also, you don't have to be Japanese to think our forum community is one of the worst seen on the internet, especially the general forum section.
