My understanding of cloud computing related to gaming is instead of having a your own server farm for your game you buy server space from a ton of random hosts. It's usually used for games with low subs, and the benefit is that you get one gigantic world instead of unique instances of the game on separate dedicated servers. The trade off is instead of lagging when a bunch of people are gathered in one spot you just lag all the time lol.

Unless my understanding is totally wrong there is no way this could be what Yhosida was talking about. For one you would have to totally reword the game from the group up, and you would have to basically just be wasting the servers they already paid for. In addition to that he wouldn't be talking about servers or worlds at all, because we would have just one big world instead.
