They stated that there will be Regional Servers places.
They stated that we will be able to choose Regional Servers.
They did not say that we are connected to the closest Regional Server and still play with other People despite their regional servers.
What we hope is that we still able to play together and still get great latencies while still connecting to each respective regional servers.

IS CLEAR to me in a way that it will be separated. But then i do hope is the other way around.

They've stated they want a word-less design and will have a cross-server content finder, so restricting current players to regional servers that are different from the servers they were playing on before would make no sense and would infuriate A LOT of people.

From the video english translation (I don't know Japanese) I had the idea it'd be separated if you chose to, but in this thread it was explained how Data centers function, so it left me a bit ambigous as to which they were referring to.

Yeah they are a bit unclear, probably because they had little time or didn't feel like explaining the whole thing.

Hopefully we can get more details both about this and the whole cross-server content finder thing.

Actually, he claimed in an interview that they were all using terminals connected to a server back in Japan. Could have been a mistranslation, but as far as we know, they were in fact playing on servers in Japan.
