What this person said, you can also sb while crafting and the most important pieces are belt/hands/head as those turn into savage might, heavens eye, touch of rage, and hells fist. Rings/neck/ear are okay since you can get str/int/hellsfist and such

http://ffxiv.mozk-tabetai.com/ has a materia table that shows what all armor is converted into but heaven's eye comes from head, waist, PGL LNC and ARC arm.

Most hat's have a chance too I believe. However if ya luck is like mine you'll get crap regardless lol
