Yeah.. beside that i also remember how Animations were far away from being smooth in the very first FFXIV Alpha, or how your character stopped, when you pulled out your weapon, before it went into that "sliding" move.Remember when you went into active mode and your character just slided forward until the weapon was out and only then started running again? That was fixed and there is no reason this wont be fixed as well.
I guess this is why Yoshi don't really want to show 2.0 until it's done. You guys complain about every little thing.
/sarcasm on
We must have mentioned like Month before the actual testing, or they wouldnt have been able to fix it.
/sarcasm off
you ppl cried about the current state of on how you need a powerfull pc to even play it and im playing it on my 450 dollar laptop i bught from the store that has a smiley face it has 2.7 amd apu 4 gigs ram and a ati radion 75000 on apu and it plays fine but playes better on my home pc any who in the new version they sacled the graphics back a bit you cant play on any thing less than 2.6 ghz and a high end graph card atm so again stop crying about it have you played 11 well play it it now and compare the graphics it looks crappy unless you uncompress the maps and even still they aint still as good so i could care less
I still think it's the right thing to voice these threads with animation concerns as much as possible.
The movement and camera in the presentation were god awful, regardless of version.
It looked like they were playing Guild Fantasy XIV 1.6 (CS1.6).
Those kind of camera/movement controls can also spell trouble and clunky controls for console users, which as silly as it is to admit, they're the ones who might end up saving/keeping this imminent disaster afloat.
So yeah. Voice everything you want in these threads until devs start responding with consince answers (either good or bad).
I just don't understand why anyone would think the animations, or anything for that matter, are all 100% complete. The animation for running diagonally isn't there either, its like running forward and moving to the side at the same time, and it looks horrible. Though, I am positive that it won't be that way on release.
I'm not saying to not judge this because it is a pre-alpha build, but i'm saying this because I've noticed that the animations stated in the OP aren't the only animations missing from this, and to be honest, the diagonal animation is something I really care more about than the OP's concern.
I have to say that if you are going to bring up/complain about one certain animation, you might as well bring up every other animation you have a problem with in that video, ie. walking backwards.
It's because they already had a game to build from unlike what they did with 1.0. The animation shouldn't have been degraded even on the basic level because even going to a new engine it would still retain the basic animations. This is why people raise the "issue' because as said unless it truly does change, they degraded it for the sake of PvP.
PvP makes animations bad? How did you formulate this argument? It's because they already had a game to build from unlike what they did with 1.0. The animation shouldn't have been degraded even on the basic level because even going to a new engine it would still retain the basic animations. This is why people raise the "issue' because as said unless it truly does change, they degraded it for the sake of PvP.
I disagree that "change" = down grading in this case.
FFXIV 1.0 was not the latest and greatest in game animation, even if it was highly detailed. Yoshi P and other developer frequently use the words "heavy" and "Inefficient" in referring to how animations are handled.
Your words: They changed the animations to have better movement.
